The only reason I think it would be kind of bearish is cause its saturday but this event has some international flavor so I am expecting a good crowd! Anyone have any idea how long hes going for tonight?

Sick party...girls where thinking ok the first hour I can dance, than the next hour, Wtf is going on up there, and than ok the next hour we back to normal and than Wtf is he playing and than omg the one girl left dancing after 9 30, sick

Disappointing if I'm being honest. His first hour was so so and then the opening dj came back on for almost an hour bc the TTs were skipping. I'm not sure what took to fix! His first 2 hours when he came back on were incredible with non-stop relentless techno. He ended his set with this euphoric style prog that was actually terrible. One top of all this, I didn't see any classic sven antics either. I know he came out into the crowd for a bit which I somehow missed. Hoping for some at the Island today!

All in all I still had a great time at stereo as always. Hopefully be back sometime this summer!

This was one of the ages! Came to the temple at 5 am, missed 30 mins or so of his opening. The placed was packed but not too packed. Not that many bears to my own surprise, it was more of a young crowed.
At some point I don`t see Sven playing but Ostrish took the decks. I was saying to myself, is he too high again and passed out somewhere.. Everyone was very tense because the tickets weren`t exactly cheap and we needed SVEN back. Ostrish did an amazing job tho, dropping some banging tunes as if he was the main act :).
Sven got back to the decks, and the carnage began! He went on an hour or so roll dropping some EVIL techno tracks a la Drumcode. The energy of the set was amazing and he wasted very little time in the transitions, straight to the point mixing. After the techno tracks, he just started to bring melodic prog bombs and I was in HEAVEN!!! I couldn`t stop dancing, completely possessed. 11 am struck and not a lot of people stayed ( 20% at best ) and Papa Sven pops into the middle of the crowed.
This was my favorite after hour moment ever. He let a long song play for about 10-14 mins while clapping with us, doing group hugs, shaking peoples hands and receiving kisses from every single girl that stayed. That`s the beauty of stereo and the intimacy that the place has. The djs are one with the people!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this magical booking. It was beyond my exceptions... It`s definitely in my top 2 events at stereo, first one being John Digweed in November.
See you guys back for Sasha and Nick Warren + Hernan!

<----- one happy, happy sven vath fan

Im kinda pissed i missed him coming into the crowd, he played 3-4 melodic tracks so I figured he was done, big mistake

but literally one of the best sets i ever heard. for sven it wasnt so much about hands in the air dj performance, for me it was more his excellent track selection, surgeon like precision mixing, set programming that can only come from 20+ years of experience.

He brought us on a journey. It started slow, went into techno, then went into RIDICULOUSLY dark german techno, drops that reminded me of an evil ice cream truck driving around a neighbourhood. Some of the melodies and sounds he played with, those evil techno build ups with drops ive never heard before, were either his superior knowledge of how to blast high people into space or just german techno ive never had the pleasure of hearing

At around 930 he started to slow the tempo, literally slowing everyone down to set them off, then a bunch of melodic tracks and he turned down the music to say, in that powerful german accent, "You... are a wonderful crowd. Thank you"

One of the best times I've ever had at stereo. Beats out Carl Cox @ Halloween two years ago. Just a beautiful night filled with music that has officially corrupted what I considered techno.

I want to go back, I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE PAPA SVEN AGAIN, what an honour to get to experience like this from such a talented LEGEND in the industry

Also, big up to Stereo for that sound system that seems to prefer techno than anything else. There's this feeling that the music, techno specifically, enveloppes you on the dance floor. I know the vinyl added an extra element in the low ends, specifically that chunky bass, but DAMN WHAT A ING NIGHT

smiled the whole next day and still today

what a treat!

Soo glad to hear people love it soo much! The energy of the crowed was electric. People were loving it. What showmanship. #2 set that I've ever heard, John Digweed #1 :)
