which artist/producer/dj has been having a dismal year....kinda let u down this year which hadnt let u down in the past?
which artist fell from his high horse with lackluster remixes or productions..or unpolished songs or terrible mixing?
This is not meant to be a flame thread but i kinda want to vent on a particular artist which i had so much respect for.
an artist who i compared in high ranks to matt darey's 98-99 legacy where he remixed more than 40 tunes if im not mistaken.
this artist came out this year with several remixes for such artists as oakenfold and dj sammy....
YES IM TALKIN about OLIVER LIEB.....the great oliver lieb who created the masterpieces such as the alias...LSG which has been renowned for its incredible past tunes such as ..im not existing, netherworld, hidden sun of venus.
His releases in 2002 have been nuthin shy of a total dissapointment
L.S.G. - the hive lacked the magic of past productions he made...same style but lacked the beauty of past lsg

IT HURTS to see this man slippin and maybe the dollar has gotten to him....I hate to see one of my alltime producers have such a dismal year...when in the past he led the way...just had to vent...
now what do yall think??? or who else do u think has slipped?

Tiesto without a doubt...he started out the year fairly strong but his remixes lately are terrible IMO. While he has produced a few good things this year (such as ISOS3) he's been slacking off and not living up to what's expected of him.
Yet another example of a producer swayed by the dollar sign...his remix of Moby's "Extreme Ways" is one of the worst remixes I've ever heard. |

Havent heard any older Lieb stuff, but I gotta tell you his 4 LSG productions so far this year (The Hive, Saviour, Goddess, Loose Ends) have been good. I like Goddess the best.
As far artists doing bad this year... Well I dont really have a complaint on him doing bad productions, but I just wish Benno de Goeij would do more. He's only had 2 productions this year (Awakening, Dont Explain) :sadgreen: |

well ive listened oliver lieb and matt darey ..since i started listening to trance..they got me in. MAYBE i just have high standards for them....nuthin can top lsg-fontana...its just once u made ur mark in this industry..u have high expectations from ur biggest fans. I for one..thing goddess was very unpolished. Im not existing(oliver lieb remix) was a beautiful trak featured on tranceport 3...go compare those 2 lsg productions..hehe.
yeah tiesto has beeen slippin..too..his remixes are a total disgrace..."hungry"...LOL |

| Darey is back though! I think that "Moody" still delivers that old style that he had back in '99. Apparently he's hard a work remixing tracks right now in his studio...I'm really looking forward to hearing them! |

I wouldnt say that Oliver Lieb has been a total disapointment... His The Hive album is wonderful, its one of the best artist albums Ive ever heard. Oliver Lieb - Subsonik is a good tune also.
And about that unknown L.S.G. tune from Digweeds essential mix, Im 99.9% sure its L.S.G. - Down to Earth from his Hive album... |
