No, I can't say that I really have any racism in me.
I basically hate everyone equally until I get to know them :p
I'm trying to stop doing that, though.

I "look" white and I grew up in San Jose (Bay Area is the most diverse place in the world btw). White people were the minority when I went to HS. I used to be treated really bad by the thuggy asains, black people, and latinos. Jumping around like monkeys, dressed like they are street bums, and talking stupid sounding slang. They would call me names like "white boy" and "whitey" and threaten me. I used to feel really left out when there were all these racial clubs like "the latino club", "The African American club", and "the asain club". But there wasn't any "white mixed club" or "caucasian club".

The smart, clean cut "minority" guys were nice and usually my friends. But, because of the racism I recieved from "minorities" I am now a little racist against any thuggy "minority". What really sucks is that because of Affirmative Action a lot of these "minority" kids got accepted into better colleges then me, even though I had a better GPA, did more sports, and got higher scores on the SAT. Don't tell me that they were at a disadvantage, because many of these guys grew up in the same neighborhood.

All I can say is that they have to proove themselves to me now. Funny how now that I've been a part of the "real" work force for some time all these thuggy "minorities" are no where to be seen...

i can relate...my senior year of highschool i went to this ghetto school and these really ghetto fabulous black girls would always stare me down for being this blonde white girl and it would piss me off that they would try to intimidate me all the time. one time in class i asked a question and this black girl that i didn't even know existed in my class was like, "damn bitch who cares shut up" and we totally got into this screaming match...it was funny, i dont think she expected me to stick up for myself. anyway, i was sort of scarred after my senior year about ghetto black and spanish girls that act immature and loud....people like that bugged the crap out of me. i really dont think that qualifies me as prejudiced though because one of my best friends of 2 years during 10th and 11th grade was a black girl named starr and i love her to death....we lost touch though:( i think im just prejudiced towards stupid immature "thugs" and ghetto chicks that fight. it's so lame... oh well that's my 2 cents..

Unless youre native american, everyone has some immigrant background.

well first of all, im kinda, sorta, i guess studying to be a sociologist...so i shouldnt even get started here...BUT!

first of all, everyone has preconceived notions of how we see the world. its just because we cant possibly understand or remember all that we take in, so we create networks of beliefs to simplify.

this being said, we are all 'racist' if by that we judge people before we see them. its dont within our own 'race' too. everyone does it.

i say 'race' because the underlying point is that there is no such thing as race. its a constructed idea by HUMANS. do different color cats or dogs discriminate - the truth is we cant get inside their heads - but i think most people will say no.

im not discounting differences, but these are due to ethnicity and custom, not 'race' - or something genetic. thats why you see 'white black kids' and 'wiggers'. what we are exposed to creates how we act. like ethnicities('races') usually stick together - so therefore they act similarly|
