Starting my own label, i want the oldschool sound back!

Okey, the last thing the music scene needs is another digital label, i get that.
But i have had this idea for many years to start a label which releases oldschool type of music that was popular in the 90's or even early 00.

I would be interested in everything from trance to progressive house/trance, goa, acid, progressive breaks and even hard trance, whatever sounds good really.

I adore this type of sound and its a shame it has totally vanished the latest 10 years or so. JOOF, Airwave, Timewave and some other guys still release awesome music but its not enough.

Besides releasing original music i want to re:release stuff that has never been available on digital format before (with new mixes), such as this excellent release:
http://www.discogs.com/Mana-Psionic/release/6062

I don't do this to earn money, i just love this type of music and i want it back to teh scene. :whip:

I need someone who can make graphic designs for the releases, logo & so on and perhaps someone who can make a website.
I will do all the label promotion myself but im not sure about the mastering bit as i probably cant afford to pay for that myself.

Im currently contacting a bunch of "old" trance producers to drag them back from the dead, Kai Tracid, Perry O Neil, DJ Fire, David West (Antiloop), Probspot, Salamander, Christian West, Union Jack & so on..

So as im new to this what would the first steps be to get this label up & running?
Oh, and i need name suggestions!

I truly hope no one wastes their time producing for you. You're essentially trying to bring people back to slap them in the face and kick them in the balls. Putrid.

If you want to get more publicity, you should do both a vinyl and digital release.

If you're doing a vinyl release, feel free to let me know if you want to choose one of my tracks (acid). :D

So like ,

If you had to ask. In 2000, don't.

If you ask to ask in 2012,, it, I was gonna toss you potato masher but what's the point.

There is a reason people stop making genres from a certain period, let me sum up it up as to cows , cows that dj and signed to cr2 would react.

,mooooo. Well the moosic, I mean it was great right keo, moooooo
But we stopped cuz well more money mooooooo problems, and we felt it was time to moooooove on because only sheep repeat tpwhat has already been done .mooooo

Well, its not like im going to ask these producers to produce new material, thats not going to happen.
Its either about re:releasing stuff (that isn't available on digital format) with new mixes or asking about previously unreleased tracks.
The main focus would still be at releasing new original music.

Perhaps this label idea is poor, thats why im asking you guys.
So why the bad attitude? If you don't like it you don't have to mock me..
But hey, this is TA after all, perhaps i should have known better before starting this topic..

Because it doesn't make any sense.

Many before you tried and they all failed.

Give me a single reason why this thing should work.

Why an X producer should invest part of his time for your lable? For "the love of music"? Bull.

This is a good idea because its always been my dream to do so, none of you tranceaddict fags can bring me down. This is tranceaddict after-all. Its amazing he even wants name suggestions, the stupidity is off the scale.

Which labels have tried and failed? There is no money involved in this more then perhaps a fee for the digital distribution. If i fail i wont loose anything, i wont have sleepless nights and i wont regret anything.

I sure as hell would not spam the forums like mr above me once did until people gave him the middlefinger and he started crying about it. So what happend? Mistique stopped sucking your dick?
Or are you grumpy for the 2$ paycheck they gave you for last year?

ya brah, im glad you pay so much attention to me... real shame I cant return it.

Exactly. The only reason someone would invest time in this would be for the pure love of it.
Could it be? Yes it could. It sounds romantic, but it could be. I did define it as "bull" in my previous comment and still stand by it. Time will show who's who and what's what.

Well I'm going the other way with this.

If you won't have sleepless nights or regret anything, then its worth a shot methinks.

I bet most of what you want to re-release is on Spotify, which is ten bucks a month.
