Ok, so I just heard the DJ Tiesto remix of Gatex. All I can say is WOW!
Not WOW in amazement of it’s greatness but WOW to the fact that Tiesto has shown himself up well and truly, as a plagiarist. For people who haven’t heard the Tiesto Remix of Gatex but have heard the original, don’t bother. Even better, if you have an original copy of Gatex you can make your own remix. Simply add a whole load of reverb to the high melody, match up another tune on your other deck, then when the bass comes in whack the cross fader to the middle and let the kick drum you’ve matched up on other record slot in.
That simply is all Tiesto has done. Any DJ with a miniscule in beat matching skill could make the same production live Tiesto has done in the studio. It’s that simple. Tiesto has sunk low low low down in my estimations after this. And no, this isn’t about genre snobbery before anyone says that. I like all sorts of music and don’t stick to one genre. I like my Trance as much as I like my Techno. But this is about something else. Tiesto is a plagiarist, plain and simple. |

Like his remix of Svenson & Gielen's "We know what you did", not much change in that one either.
Too bad but if you are a very popular DJ and producer you are bound
to atleast once get caught in a somewhat strange state where you
produce under pressure and for the money (not to forget), productivity
takes over, sadly enough. |

The only decent production Tiesto has done is Obsession & guess what, Junkie XL made 90% of that track. I rate Tiesto as a DJ but his remixes and productions are absoloute e.
Tiesto shouldent even play techno man, he should just continue to be an Oakenfold wannabee and play more uplifting tunes wich is amazing in his sets (sapphirecut, barakka, flash brothers, D*Note, Bullit)
Actually im going to start to flame Tiesto for the first time here, He has started to play harder and basically it is , Tiesto shouldent play techno/ Harder trance, because he could be such a good DJ if he didnt, I think i may have to offciailly aband the guy from today onwards, I will give him one more set to proove me wrong....But with DJs like Sasha and Oakenfold...Who the is Tiesto. |

damn, you people can;t get enough...
When Tiesto is playing vinyl 1000 times the same vinyl in his sets we all type bad stuff about him.......now he is spinning some other and it still aint good...shut up!!!! it's never good with you people here....and quess what....the other 12999 people on the party where you at is enjoying his sets....damn all that naging about Tijs is so facking useless....stop it! |

| tiesto is a good dj but hes lost some of that edge that he use to have. Sasha though kicks all types of ass when hes spinnin. |

jesus let tiesto try to switch to some new sounds and see how it works out.. this threat has been done over and over again
i love his old stuff too compared to his newer style but u cant play the same uplifting sounds for 20 years.. lets see where it takes him :) |

Tiesto first played the gatex version with bass at gatecrasher summer sound system, with no reverb, just bass so he could put the track in his set, make it sound a bit more interesting
I personally love the original, mad tune, but anyway
This has just been put on the release as a remix, and people are claiming it as a full on tiesto remix. It probably took him all of 5 seconds to do, and he just did it probably as he liked the tune, but wanted bass.
But as the original has been released on tiesto label, or will be, woteva. They just chucked on the tiesto remix.
I think if you spoke to tiesto he wouldnt claim it took him ages. He just added a bit to the tune, so he could use it in his set, simple
Well that is my opinion anyway.
Oh and to certain members who cant reply in a mature mannor - GROW UP.
This is a discussion forum, so discuss, atleast this isn the usual tiesto bashing thread, and has much more to it, than TIESTO IS WANK, DISCUSS!!!

Erm, I don’t know what original version you’re listening to but my Original has Bass on it all ready! :p
Everybody, if you want this tune, go by Umek – The X EP. It will be all the more worth your while.

If it’s not something that is full blown than he should have used an alias. That’s what they are there for. Oh, and it’s RE-release. For the original of Gatex. ;)
If it does turn out that this was originally just a remix he used as a “tool” only given a release due to the powers that be then I can forgive him to some extent, he still should be able to do it live, but if it was just for his use then ok, if however my suspicions are correct and it is how I initially though it was then for shame. :(

Yes a re release on tiestos label. And tiesto doesnt normally go under an alias, atleast not recently anyway :) |
