the intro is an important track, just as important as the last (if not more so)

to set the mood and grab the listeners attention.

this one from our old friend tjs is hard to beat, isos 3 he was truly at the top of his game and piqued with this marvelous mix cd.

another favourite is adam white's disc on limited edition euphoria. paints a picture of a doomed space mission.

Perfect track to start a set with, too:

I have no idea what he played, but Sashas intro to his set at glastonbury this time last week* was truly ing epic.

Paradox Lost
I've always felt Sasha's remix of 'Grand National- Talk Amongst Yourselves' on 'Involver' was one of the finest intro tracks I've ever heard.

i think you mean this, love that one too.

I'd agree that the intro is rediculously important when it comes to mix CDs (perhaps less so in a club set though)

For me one of the tricky things is that tunes that have amazing intro's are typically not tunes you would use anywhere near the start of your set though! An example is Bedrock - Set In Stone. Also that Antillas esample from the Adam White CD - great start to the disk but I think he struggled to follow it up, personally (that happened on a lot of Euphoria CDs)

I'm quite partial to low-key intros like this one:

The actual into doesn't do much but the tune itself is perfect to open a trance / prog set

Berghain 04. Alltime ambient favorite.

This is one of my all time favourites from Scott Bond's EM 2000.
