It was the "you plebs" part that was annoying. You can be cooler than people but if your only reason to be cooler than other people is to on people that like other things than you then you are a bad person, no matter your gender identity crisis. I am sorry but she doesn't get a pass for being a bitch to everyone just because she has personal issues. |

I don't know if I hate tumblr because its an echo chamber that breeds stupidity or love it because of the entertainment some of the individuals trapped in it provide. |

I wasn't around during her meltdown. I do know that hormone therapy gets people into some serious funk. But yes, it's no excuse to be an ass to everybody just because you're going through a tough time.
She shouldn't have shared her transition journey on TA, in my opinion. It's a very private matter and she should have handled it as such.
I do miss her around these forums, though. |

This was before her therapy when she was still Adam. Like for a significant amount of time before she underwent her change. |

Yeah, reddit is an echo chamber as well but these guys seem to dig up some seriously bat crazy stuff on there.
I am all for social progress but there are always people in any movement who take it too far. These guys are unpaid "reality TV" stars for the new generation. |

This is all true, and she was more or less forced to share the details after Ted Promo's rather childish stunt, but even long before all that went down Adam Vana was notoriously sanctimonious and morally outraged to the level of self-parodic hyper-liberalism you see on Tumblr.
With the music change, I've no idea if it's just a "rebranding" exercise as a DJ or related to different cultural circles she's now moving in. The music itself still looks as good as ever, albeit in a different direction, but I was always suspicious of the way Adam Vana went from labelling progressive house as "the sound [he] believed in to completely disowning and attacking it at every opportunity in the space of about 3 years. In fact, I'm suspicious of anyone who completely alters their tastes rapidly and frequently. It makes me wonder how much investment they ever really had in the music, and how much of it was merely a suitable lifestyle accessory. |

| When exactly did Tumblr become this hotbed of computer chair social activism? When I first encountered it seemed like a place for artsy types to post photos, quotations, or cryptic mini blog posts. Then I had nothing to do with it for a few years and I start hearing about a certain breed of "activists" who choose from a list of several hundred newly coined pronouns to refer to themselves, demand "trigger warnings" everywhere, etc. etc. |

| Anyone prescribe to the school of queer were people that take drastic steps to perpetuate gender are kinda umm, hmmm, ya. If it makes you happy? The statistics on post op satisfaction are kinda grim. I suppose the government would hsve to pay for it as they push the binary option but I don't understand it. So I will pass this to oranges to. |
