i am a very big fan of his work and talent, but i would like to know why he stopped producing sounds under his " Nu Style" guise and ventured into more deep house and techno ?

his older work was insane, all his remixes were better than the actual original track
Titanium
He gets more gigs, money and bigger fanbase I guess.
Paradox Lost
Probably because he's just one of many major producers from that period who would eventually leave the scene as its sound began to change, and when the major jocks who helped publicize names like his began to change along with it. It was really a matter of adapt or move on, and some were apparently so disillusioned with it that they stopped releasing music all together.

Makes sense i guess...

Its such a shame though, that sound made him much more distinct than his current sound. Our loss basically. When you listen to tracks such as this one , you cant help but think this way

Super8 & Tab - Suru (Martin Roth Electrance Remix)

or this one

Liquid Soul - Global Illumination (Martin Roth OMFG! Remix)

Martin Roth and Matt Darey both have made great transitions from going to trance to progressive to deep house

I think both guys felt like they needed a new challenge

wasn't a fan of martin roth's trance. happy he made the transition to a more credible type of music, rather than going the way of most former big players in the trance scene, turning to big-room gutter trash music.

matt darey does decent stuff?!

was a big fan of his, and the last few times i have checked in with him have been big disappointments - effectively churning out cheesy pop music.

can you post an example of something decent he has done, post-trance?

just check out his recent Nocturnal podcasts...

they are actually pretty good!!
rubez
will do, not expecting much though to be honest.

all he seemed to out for ages was awful vocal-heavy pop tracks.

hope he has gotten his act together though, he did some great productions in his trance days.

Yeah, as far as pounding, peak-time trance was concerned, he was pretty solid, though a lot of his productions seemed characteristic of the 'needs more kick' jokes that were becoming associated with Sean Tyas' work, at the time.

I agree, and very good remix.

One thing i really like about his productions was that it wasnt all the same all the time , he went up and down on bpm, and released various sounds during the same time. Oh well , those days are gone now ...

Been playing this a lot when it came out.
