yeah, seriously, a part time job whilst in Uni is not hard to find at all.

Melbourne rocks.

Once you graduate you could go for honours, but either way a 'carrer job' is not that hard to come buy.

I completely disagree with work being easy to find.... I been in Brisie for good 3-4 months and have found jack..... While in school you can only work 20 hours a week to start with..... found a couple that pay under the table but they were slave labor rates.... I probably put out 30-40 resumes and got one call back..... Now I work at a hotel bar and get 10 hours a week..... uggg..... well enough of my boo hoo hooing and if anyone has any jobs available send me a pm :)

Here is a funny one: I went up to Bundy for a while thinking to make a little cash picking fruit..... dumbest idea I ever had ... but at least it makes me laugh

Oh one other note: my building like 4 guys looked for work.... I was the only one to really find anything... yet out of the 6 girls who looked 3 found stuff.... one of which I was with when we went to the place and he said "got two positions that just opened... this will work out perfect"..... 3 hours later she got a call... I got nada.... I just aint as cute I guess..

Depends on what kinda job you're looking for I suppose.

I didn't really start looking for a job until I got outta school, but then I sent out like 6 resume's once I'd finished and walked into a casual job at a Shell servo without any real effort and despite having no prior experience. But then, I suppose when you have the sort of magnetic charm that I do, these things tend happen. :D

But from memory sothis, you're quite good with computers? I'm currently doing a business/IT degree at a mediocre uni (though it's arguably the best IT coruse that this uni does) and half the people in my course already have part time jobs in IT firms, despite the fact that we've only finished 3 of 6 semesters so far. My mate in the course is currently working at a firm in the city doing tech-support, and they recently flew him up to the Sydney office for an interview for a $58,000 a year full-time job up there. The response, bearing in mind he's barely half way through his degree? He was over-qualified. They're flying him back up there to interview him for a higher position later this year.

So yeah, the jobs are there, it's just a case of finding them. And from memory, Victoria has the lowest u/e rate of any state? Which means that either there are more jobs here, are just that they're all taken now. Oh well, good luck either way, regardless of where you end up going. Most of the capital cities are nice enough places to live, so wherever you decide to stay you should enjoy it. :)

I found these pertinant to the discussion at hand.

heheheh

as far as jobs are concerned, you'd only be after a part time/casual job if you're at skool at the same time...?

you (hopefully) shouldnt have too much trouble finding a job then - plenty available in retail (if u have experience), nightfill...

have a look at www.jobsearch.gov.au
thats where i actually found my current part time job :)
