oh a rather random note i might be coming to australia in february for school... im thinking melbourne (if there arent a lot of applicants from here). so, any advice/tips/info on stuff? is broadband readily available down there? also, im told the job market sucks and i have basically no chance of finding a part time job

any thoughts would be appreciated ^_^

broadband here is pretty sucky :)
u can get adsl most places, netspace adsl is pretty good at $99AUD or something, which since your from the us translates to around $54USD i think?
every isp is capped with dl/upload limit here.. :(

and yes, the job market sucks :)

hey sothis! nice to hear your making a move to the lovly melbourne. definetly the best city in australia in terms of clubbing and nightlife (as i'm sure most fellow AUTA would agree!)

so what you looking at studing down here? your a computer specialist right? well there are heaps of jobs avialble for that as long as you have a good degree and know what your doing. anyway you'll be fine!

welcome to Oz! (getting in first :D)

hehe .. aus rocks, unless u want trance DJs every night :)

but yeah, work isn't difficult to find if you're prepared to look..

hey cheggy
It's pretty hard to get into Australia these days. Your best bet is to find someone in the Indonesia region with a good boat. It will cost a few hundred dollars from there, then you treck inland on foot through western Australia.

This seems to be the standard method lately

It's not THAT hard to find work... just gotta look... and not be too picky...
