post guv anniversary illness

Last year after Tiesto and Glam Sat at guv i caught a really ty cold that made me miss PVD on the Wenesday.
This year same $hit. After Sat got a terrible cold. I guess dancing on the patio in the rain didnt help.
What sucks is that I only get 1 cold per year. What timing.
I wont miss Sasha though.
Anyone else?? |

There is a HUGE cold epidemic going around man. I know of atleast five people who got it at Guv these past weekends.
I caught it two saturdays ago at Guv and was sick as a dog the whole week. I was hitting the drugs(legal ones) hardcore and it helped. Thank God I didnt miss Ferry & Seaman. But seems the damn cold is coming back and I will be missing Sasha (that and no cash flow) :( |

| the most common way of catching a cold is when u rub ur eyes or nose with an infected hand .. so juss make sure u wash ur hands before touching an open areas. esp. at a place like Guv where itz so crowded and people are sweating itz not hard to pass illnesses.. |

| i have the flu currently (which totally sucks).....but i'll be there as sasha anyway...i bought a ticket....so i figure i might as well go see him take the roof off the koolhaus...i've been sick a lot this year....had the flu after steve lawler and tomiie....caught the flu before gielen.....sighs..... |

another reason for gettin the cold is cos u sweat ur ass off and then leave the club to the cold wind outside...the instant thermal change is known to have an adverse effect on ur immune system so the dormant cold virus wakes up....

i once read some research stating that cold weather had nothing to do with catching a cold... supposed the only part of ur body when temperature changes that affects ur immune system .. is ur FEET ..
can anyone confirm .. ? |

| I caught a cold that lasted 3 weeks after seeing Paul Van Dyk @ Koolhaus in feb 01.....damn coldest day of that year. |

well if its gradual temperature change, its ok..but instant change affects u...
think about it..ur all sweaty..its hot in the club, u cross that exit door and its freezin outside......ur body doesnt have the time to adapt to taht temperature....
i may be wrong about all this im saying..but usually thats the way ive gotten colds |

| yes .. i've gotten colds from being out in the cold before as well.. but i think it has more to do than that. i read the research that cold had nothing to do with it on WebMD.com .. so i dunno what does that mean ? placebo .. ? |

| Actually DJ El Kay Dee is right. We are constantly exposed to various strains of bacteria, and fortunate for us our immune system keeps things at bay. However, after attending a party at which you dance all night and therefore succumb to exhaustion you lower the efficiency of your immune system in fighting infections. Furthermore, exposure to cold weather will not on its cause a cold or the flu, but it will further hinder the functionality of our immune system, rendering us more susceptible to illness. Both of my cousins got sick after this party, and I have a partial sore throat. |
