Muzik Magazine scored it 2/5, so I'd have to say no.

any reason why it sucks
Paradox Lost
It's fine, and I actually appreciate it more than I do most trance LP's, as it tries to hit multiple notes and go in different directions. But the album felt like it depreciated within a year of its release, and certainly didn't age well throughout the remainder of the decade.

pvd's seven ways wants a word.

in my memory is far from perfect.
Trance-M
Good, but not perfect to me, this one is still at the top of my list for exactly 20 years now God's Groove - Elements of Nature (1994).
Second one for me would be Jam & Spoon - Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 (1993) ,although not even Trance only.

I like that Elements of Nature contains an intro and outro: God's Groove - Elements of Nature

2/5?

let's go down the tracklist:

Magik Journey = classic Geert Huinink track.
Close To You = nice downtempo track albeit cheesy.
Dallas 4PM = awesome sample from a 2000 track; can't remember the name.
In My Memory = not really a fan. Airwave's remix is one my all-time favorite remixes though.
Obsession = another big draw from Tiesto's catalogue
Battleship Grey = cut from the same mold as the other cheesy pop tracks.
Flight 643 = one of the best buildups ever.
Lethal Industry = classic.
Suburban Train = saves the best for last. The zenith of Tiesto tracks.

In My Memory has 6 classic cuts that'll always have a mark in trance history, and it's not like there's 12-15 tracks on the LP either - there's 9, which proves how efficient the album in terms of the good/bad track ratio.

The byline for their review reads: "The tulip trancemaster tries hard to impress but maybe not hard enough." Full review is here (skip to pg. 101 after the pdf loads) if you're interested. It's a pretty fair review, I'd say, pointing out its strengths and weaknesses. If you think they're being harsh just because it's trance, they also gave Mauro Picotto's The Others and a Gatecrasher compilation 4/5s in that same issue; also, Boards Of Canada's Geogaddi a 2/5.

So take heart. Muzik Magazine figures Tiesto's as good BoC!:gsmile:

Edit: For clarification, Muzik explained their ratings system by way of rappers in that issue.

5/5 = Chuck D
4/5 = Roots Manuva (UK bias, surely)
3/5 = Busta Rhymes
2/5 = Parappa Tha Rapper
1/5 = Ali G & Shaggy

if I'm listening to Tiesto circa 2000s, it's a Magik CD. Preferably #5
