| It's probably a mundane question but if anyone deserves the title, who's the greatest artist ever in dance music? |

I don't think it's a mundane question inasmuch as it's one that not quite as straightforward as this thread may suggest, as everyone's going to qualify it among different standards.
If I were to approach it in terms of who was most inspiring and inventive (and I am), I'd have to give the nod to Vangelis (and not without some dispute, I'm sure).
EDIT: Oh, wait: electronic *dance* music. Yeah I dunno. |

I might have to agree with you. Vangelis has done more groundbreaking things than anyone else i can think of. He is incredibly versatile musician. Someone who has pushed many boundaries and is always inspirational.
But yeah, if we are talking DJ's, I would be rating it as a consistently phenomenal individual.
Paul Van Dyk or John Digweed |

for djs, yeah, diggers is my vote. gu019, essential mixes, 2005@fabric, renaissance, silky mix... all this makes him takes the cake. is just too good. |

Good points, and despite me being a big fan, I did give it some thought but no one lives up to the hype. He's the real deal. |

Jean-Michel Jarre/Sasha/Digweed/PvD
Mentions:
Carl Cox - for always being consistency good
Oakenfold - for pioneering the big stadium shows
j00f - For the passion he brings to every set
Tiesto - for bringing Trance to the masses (playing Olympics/In Concert/etc.)
Guetta - for bridging the crossover between dance/mainstream
AvB - for still having a radio show and starting it when all we really had was the Essential Mix and staying (relatively) loyal to Trance |
