Ok, honest question time...Can I use the word chink? I married one, my son is half chink, and i live in chinkland. So I can use it on here like black people use nigger, right?

Who says it's only been going on for the last twenty years? Probably the biggest difference now is every local newspaper has a website so you see more of these stories floating about. Twenty years ago the news wouldn't have travelled five feet outside Jerkwater, USA. |

There's simply no reason to assume this case is any different at this point. |

I don't think it's possible to entirely disassociate this type of conduct from an implicit abuse of power, as there's an inherent power dynamic that characterizes the student-teacher relationship that was being used to an illicit end. I also find it irrelevant as to whether or not this was a consensual arrangement, as the teacher is bound both by law and the trust invested in her to approach this minor as someone who, at present, lacks the capacity to properly make such a determination in the first place. That she failed to uphold this with someone who was entrusted into her care qualifies a special circumstance, as far as I'm concerned.
