So then, Detroit techno: the most painfully serious, purist, respected and credible genre of dance music out there. And yet I can still make it sound exactly like progressive trance. Here's how:
01. The Parallel - Origin [Singular]
02. Simoncino - Tape II [Creme Organisation]
03. Paranoia106 - Cold Wave [Hypnotic Room]
04. Shawn Rudiman - Go Again [Matrix]
05. Patrice Baumel - Vapour (Petar Dundov Remix) [Trouw]
06. Greg Gow - Patch Bay [Restructured]
07. Paranoia106 - Skyscraper [Hypnotic Room]
08. Jamez & Soulboy - Surface Tension [Qaitek]
09. P-Ben - Shame (Absent Remix) [Venice]
10. Adam Jay & Brian Kage - Meridian [Monoid]
11. Greg Gow - Drone Attack [Restructured]
12. Kirk DeGiorgio - Morro da Fromiga [Far Out]
13. Future Beat Alliance - Cloud Ten [FBA]
14. J-T Kyrke - Sequence 7 [Chroma]
15. SERi - Dark Flow [Translucent]
16. Fabio Scalabroni - Hazy Mood [ZeECc]
17. P-Ben - My Own Transition (Absent Remix) [EP Digital]
18. Pulse Code Modulation - Himmel Strasse [Pong]
19. Greg Gow - Eclipse [Metapath]
20. Vince Watson - Atom [Tresor]
21. J-T Kyrke - Horizon [Applied Rhythmic Technology]
22. Future Beat Alliance - Orbit Head [FBA]
In all seriousness, I think this is very much "techno suitable for tranceheads", so I'd be very interested in your feedback. Critique me hard, bitches. |

| Super duper tracklist. Love how you used some Toronto productions in there! Grabbing this. |

I know Greg Gow's from Toronto... anyone else on here? Amusingly, this mix contains techno from Japan, France, Britain, Holland, Canada and Croatia but hardly any actually from Detroit. |

| always kind of felt the same way about techno. it's just such a diverse genre that there are plenty of "trancey" sounds and tracks out there that people missing that should search out. checking this out. |

Well, that's the only Toronto dude I know on there (that's his label too, but I'm sure you were aware of that). He's a cool dude. |

I didn't actually know that, but it is a very good label. I could easily have used more Restructured stuff on this mix. What's he like as a DJ? |

took a listen to this today. a couple of thoughts.
first, LOVED the first half of the set. really enjoyed that.
You did start to lose me in the middle when you were really banging it out. I think it was really just a little more than i wanted to listen to at home. i can just picture this set going off in a dark basement club at DEMF.
other than that i really enjoyed it all around. |
