Anyone listening to this Progressive Psytrance?

Is anyone listening to Prog-PsyTrance? This is really interesting. I almost feel like this is what 90s Trance should've evolved into.

Some really good stuff. It isn't that hardcore stuff that fries your brain, I can't really describe it but it's definitely unique. Word goes that this new style has only been around since 2013 or fairly recent.

Been around for a while, I'd call it groovy, if anything.

Made this mix about a decade ago, but I don't think I own the file anymore: http://tranceaddict.com/forums/show...=2#.VGGfpTTF-So
Syntonic
Followed it more years ago but Freq was a favorite of mine. I remember someone posted the track Freq - Dreambody (Atmos Remix) and Markus Schulz ended up playing it the next day on Global DJ Broadcast.

Check out the LP - Freq - Strange Attractors as well.

i actually listen to this genre more than any others right now and am always looking for new mixes.

for me the gold standard mixes have been released by DJ Tobias Bassline (i'm such a fanboy) but he's really put out some good mixes.

YOU!

This mix is fantastic!

It's been around for the best part of 15 years ago, and the glory days were arguably the mid '00s when the likes of Human Blue, Vibrasphere, Fitalic and Antix were bringing out great tracks. And that isn't nostalgia because I wasn't listening to it at that time. Most of the modern stuff is absolutely banal.

I'd love to check out some more of those works. I was told all this stuff was.... 1 year new. Guess I was lied to on the YouTube comments section, or merely misinformed.

Do you have any singles, mixes, or any of type of releases you could recommend to me from the above artists you just mentioned? I really wanna see how the stuff in the mid '00s sounds like compared to the prog psytrance I've been listening to made recently.

The stuff in that mix is probably less than a year old, but that minimalist ploddy prog-psy sound has been around for the last 3-4 years. Personally I think that mix you posted is ing awful.

This is what I consider to be good prog-psy, although it doesn't have a huge deal of resemblance to the 2014-era incarnation:

I would say that the peak of psy prog was around 10 years ago. Lots of really good stuff was released from circa 2000-2005. Labels such as Digital Structure, Hadshot Haheizar, Iboga, Tribal Vision, Spiral Trax...
Check out their catalogues.

Oldschool psyprog back in the days (begining of 00's) wasn't that far away from then prog house sound, that's why even djs like Markus played some of those. You can dig also for tracks/lives from Son Kite, Atmos (still keeping the vibe), Ticon (they are back), Beat Bizarre (still great), Fitalic and so on and so on ;)

In this set you can find a lot of tracks of artists I've mentioned (tracklist on mixcloud):

CJ Art - Trip to the SUN (Prog-Psy-Goa Mix) by Cj Art on Mixcloud

Also soon (probably tomorrow) will upload my live set from this weekends psy party, it will be filled with oldchool psyprog and nuschool in the end of it ;)

To me, it became a very uninteresting genre in the last couple of years. If i had to highlight a 2014 release would be Spintribe on JOOF Recordings.

EDIT: The best prog psy of this year is actually AstroPilot - Back To Midgard-Earth (Spectrum Vision Remix)
SPANIARD

Just released recently. Maybe not as dreamy or trance based as the mix posted in the OP but still a great tune.
