Versatile in terms of what? Try to put some thought in your thread.

yea thats definitely acid sound......it has FM synthesis in it too though so it's crossing that line...where I think pure acid there would be no FM synth.....idk, im not an acid expert |

From what I've heard, the TB-3 does a good job but still doesn't have the oomph imo. I'm debating on saving up for one on ebay...has anyone played around on a Groovebox?
Acid sound is a flexible sound, it doesn't always have to squelch. It can be fat,funky warm and fuzzy or just straight up cold and mechanical.

If you're looking to get that pure analog sound, I'd save up for a x0xb0x instead, if I were you. If you're looking to make some Trance/Progressive with it, however, the TB-3 might actually be a good choice, then. I'd also consider getting a Korg Electribe instead of a Groovebox.

There are plenty of good acid being released nowadays, most of which can be discovered through Soundcloud:
I think I mentioned in another thread that these last 2 or 3 years have probably been the best and most prolific for the Acid genre since 1994.

| I tune into Wink's mixshow on Sirius XM from time to time, he mostly plays techno (minimal, berghain-style, a bit of retro detroit-ish stuff) and tech house, not too much on the acid tip. |

You're right, that's some pretty great acid. That's an acid house track you posted, right? That was pretty awesome. Kromatones... I gotta remember that. You got any more stuff like this? |

It's not acid house, it's just acid - you'd probably hear it in an acid/techno mix. You can check out my "likes" page on Soundcloud, if you like. You'll find plenty of good acid there ;) linky
