Digweed is a master, I think he leaves Sasha behind him qua mixing.
Sasha is brilliant too though but diggers plays some darker and some tribal stuff while Sasha plays some more known tunes (not that it's bad though)
To come back to your topic, if I see someone says this I shows to me that you're still green behind your ears to listen to this kinda music.
So keep listening to what u like (prob armin etc...)
Time will come when u understand this music.

| Listen to Digweeds "MMII" album or his latest essential mix. If you don't know what so special about him after that than don't bother trying to understand. |

| but i dont understand why all people who like progressive say that is hard to like progressive, why it has to be hard? if it's good music why do i have to wait 1 year till i finally like it, firt time i heard techno i loved it, first time i heard trance i loved it. and first time i heard progressive ''I HATED IT'' so i dont think i can try again, |

digweed is good but
i don't respect him as much b/c he doesn't produce his own tracks or remixes... or does he?
seeing diggers and pvd live, i must say diggers pales in comparison to the MAN (pvd)

When I first started to listen to trance and was sporadically downloading tracks from various sources I immediately deleted anything that didn't have a catchy, obvious melody. I knew I liked this kind of stuff but I didn't have the patience for something a little more subtle. In the few years or so since then I've progressed (pun intended, perhaps?) to a level where I can appreciate the sounds involved in house or prog trance. You don't have to try again. In fact, it's not that simple. If you don't like something, listening to it over and over won't help -- it'll most likely make it worse. Listen to what you like, always. If you find, a year, two years down the road, you're listening to progressive (or any other genre for that matter), great. If you're still listening to the same thing, more power to you. I wish I'd found out what I liked that soon. On a final note, this isn't one of those "progressive is the only music worth listening to" posts; I enjoy melodic trance just as much. :) |

I agree, but it really just comes down to who plays music that better fits your style. |

first of all, its not hard to get into Progressive music. The whole meaning in progressive music is that its progressive, it evolves. For example you like trance right, and then you hear different tracks that are not trance but say house or techno or breakbeat, then you feel the need for all things to be together, fused into one. So in essence its not so much a step but more of an evolution of personal music taste. And as for Digweed and sasha, you cant compare the two, Digweeds dj sets are fused together perfectly, his mixing skills dwarf those of others such as Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto etc.... And Sasha is a production genious, you may say he collaborates alot with Junkie XL and Charlie May, but if you heard a production by Charlie May and Junkie XL you would easily spot the 'where's Sasha' sound immediately, he takes the productions to another level. And Devantes, John Digweed has produced amazing tracks under the Bedrock guise with Nick Muir, and in the past has collaborated with other DJ's and has done plenty remixes, but now he is focussing more on DJ'ing. I mean Heaven Scent was an amazing track, a true classic along with Voices and Emerald. All amazing tracks. So in conclusion, its all down to personal taste, taste in music evolves, if all you listen to is trance then you aren't opening your mind to other genres of music, the more you broaden your musicical taste.. the more you are able to reachout to the people that keep the scene going...the clubbers.
