And Devantes, John Digweed has produced amazing tracks under the Bedrock guise with Nick Muir, and in the past has collaborated with other DJ's and has done plenty remixes, but now he is focussing more on DJ'ing. I mean Heaven Scent was an amazing track, a true classic along with Voices and Emerald. All amazing tracks. So in conclusion, its all down to personal taste, taste in music evolves, if all you listen to is trance then you aren't opening your mind to other genres of music, the more you broaden your musicical taste.. the more you are able to reachout to the people that keep the scene going...the clubbers.

Everything that I would say has already been said (by Wookieslut and Psi, good posts guys :)), but progressive really is a style that you grow into, and learn to appreciate through time. This time a year ago, I didn't like Xpander one bit, I still remember going crazy to Johan Gielen and company :rolleyes: . I actually bought GU013: Ibiza and didn't like it, so I gave it back and got John 00 Flemming's For Your Ears Only (Which is a great cd, btw!!) Anyways, I guess my tastes started to branch out when I started to notice a pattern to trance (we all know what this is, damned 2002, no originality!), by then, I had purchased Hybrid's Wider Angle (another must-have) and my mind looked for something else...something more than just the synthy energy, 140BPM style. I looked for music that was crafted differently...and soon I found myself go down the breaks/progressive path simply because the tracks never repeated the same formula, and the sets/cd's were peiced together much differently...each time.
Last night I was looking through one of my very first posts under this username, and this is what i said about Digger's;

ANyways, one day it'll grow into you (or it won't and you'll go into a totally different path); but for now, enjoy trance...:) Because it's great too (the trance from 1996-2000 is the best though, nothing tops it) |

MMMmmmmm, very interesting thread here guys, I myself, have still not as such, "gottin into Digweeds Style", but am finding myself more and more enjoying Sasha's music, and livesets, now than say a year ago. So i guess in time, I will start to like Digweed to. By the way can anyone recommend which CD of theirs i should get
I was sorta tinkin about one of the GU ones or the Northern E CDs, but didnt know which one:) ? |

| i always liked sasha more then digweed but they both play some awesome music... they got great taste. like the good wookie said... usually people that appreciate progressive have been listening a while to electronic music in general and can appreciate all different genres. |

Yeah i totally agrees that Trance really rocks during 1997-2001 ... i find that there are major chances after 2001 [ dont shoot me if i am wrong .. hahaaA~ ]
I myself stuck to the trance becoz of ATB and PVD .. its still light ... when i purchase GU 13 for fun [ i bought it coz i find the the DJ name is quite familiar [ coz i am still new to the electronick music during those times ] .. but nevertheless that album is one of the best album to me till now ..infact i can appreciate progressive stuff from that album and now i really interested in house tribal or house stuff ... well.. really honestly speaking .. trance and progressive sometimes are not easy to be dissolved in our mind ... some ppl instantenously like the mix after one or two times heard .. but to some people its need longer time .. maybe much longer time hehheeE~ .. its ok .. like other ppl said .. when times come u will like it
well .. thats trance .. like the real meaning .. THE STATE OF CONCIOUSNESS .. got to listen more and more so you will like it hahahaA~ :toothless :toothless :toothless

well if you arent into the stuff hes playing now, try listening to his global underground sydney :) Its house, but not boring and its more upbeat than his recent stuff.

I disagree to a certain point. Diggers and Sasha should be put into a headliners timeslot. :eek: Listen to their essential mix its great (if you are into prog) |
