yes good point. u gotta let the taste develop for this particular genre gradually over some time. but once u understand it it grabs ur consciousness so much that you cant start hating it never. the comment i made above was a bit too harsh so sorry about that. |

Well I would tend to agree. Epic trance for me (the typical Ferry Corsten-type, synth-heavy radio-friendly) has become so formulaic and predictable (and CHEESY) that it's becoming a drag listening to new trance tracks because I've been disappointed time and time again. The last OMFG track that truely sent shivers down my spine was Push- Tranzy State of Mind (Club Mix), and that was what, a year ago? The rest of them have been just truely disappointing. Too many Ligaya-style "this-is-a-trance-anthem-put-your-hands-up-in-the-air" tracks are exactly what is killing the genre. There is no more depth in trance anymore.
Progressive trance and house IS taking over, like it or not. I'm a hardcore tranceaddict and I really hope the genre picks itself up again but the anthem factory has gotta stop.
My favourite track ATM is Underworld- Luetin. It's so intelligent.. an amazing production. It's not really trance, but it gave me the same feeling I had back in '99 when just I began listening to trance. Maybe this track is an indication of the future direction trance must take to survive- we cant just keep talking about '99 anymore.. |

That's because it gives a rather large group of idiots on this board the opportunity to make believe that they're superior to everyone else or that their musical taste is somehow more "mature" or "developed". I enjoy a little prog now and then, but these people are a disgrace to the genre. Just let them have their delusions of grandeur - trying to reason with them is like trying to shake hands with a brick wall. |

Actually, you've got it the other way around. It's the pure 'tranceaddicts' that are like brick walls. They'll say dumb like "Digweed is so boring! OMFG!! TRANCE OWNS ALL!!" Every "tranceaddict" tries too hard to act like some stupid zealot for trance or something. It's funny, cause a lot of people that are prog heads now, like myself, have hated prog before, and now we love it. And we see others do the exact same thing that we did...its a continous loop. There are some people that act egotistical, but its not restricted to prog heads only :rolleyes: pay attention to how many ignorant posts are made by people that are just into uplifting trance and nothing else. Most of us progheads are pretty openminded and reasonable, but when we see stupid comments made about the music we love, and stupid posts like your own, it pisses us off. We dont need to hear ignorant comments made by people who listen to one style of music :rolleyes: |
