Do not order from PlanetXUSA. Heed my warnings.

Shoddy customer support and a lot of bull to go with it.

I ordered from them 3 times before the AI indicator came up, and 1 time after (about 5 days ago).

Back then, if they didnt have 40$ worth of stuff in-stock, they won't ship it out to you. Now, if you have *Gasp* 30$ or more they will ship the things out. No where on the FAQ does it say that, and I just went on a 2 email fight against them about it. They however keep insisting on my misunderstanding. Despite their AI (Availability Indicator), expect 3 out of 5 records to be in-stock.

I was stupid in giving them another chance, but i'm for you fellow TAs that live in the US, AVOID PlanetX when ordering records.

Here is a quote from an email I received that they willingly admit but do not attempt to correct the situation other than a "sorry, we charged your credit card, too BAD!"

quote:
granted, we should not have shipped your order because it did not meet the minimum but our experience has been that most customers would prefer that we send what we can find and not have their order cancelled.

Your right my friend, They dick me and my buddy around and i will never ever shop them again. There indicator is bull, full of lies. I will tell everybody to never shop them again and make them go out of business.

ive always had good service with planetx. They have a load of old stuff, which is good for me, and they actually get a lot of new stuff. I was suprised they got Sun Decade - Im Alone before satilliterecords and i believe its still in stock. Their shipping is great, i usually get my shipment in within 5 days and i think their customer service is good.
Although I think the $40 minimum order is kinda gay, i dont mind too much since i order more than that anyway.
It does tell you that there is a $40 minimum order and its on the bottom of the screen in your basket i believe. But if they say that you must meet the requirement and they still shipped it even if you didnt, then i think thats wrong on their part.
Out of the 8 times that Ive ordered from them, ive had only 2 records backordered and they both were colored blue which meant that they might have it, so i didnt complain.

actually ignore the AI on Sun Decade. I placed an order on Sun Decade while it's green and basically that was the only record (of 4) that did not get shipped out. It's out of stock despite what their availability indicator says. heh i'm so pissed i feel like filing a BBB complaint, but I saw their BBB profile and mail sent to PlanetX kept being returned.

I had a bad experience with them
They have very bad customer service, in addition, they are unprofessional.
Because they were unable to verify my adress on my credit card, they froze the order for about a week until they decided to tell me. I had a show that weekend, so I needed my records, I was expecting them before the weekend arrived. On that THursday they decided to tell me that they could not process my order and they needed me to fax over three forms of proof to verify.
I told them that i needed to records by the weekend and because of the delay, I would not reach the deadline, so that I would get my records locally at my record shop (not the exact same records but anything new). They actually tried to charge me fees for cancelling the order. "Handling fees". When I desputed the charges they actually questioned my integrity and basically called me a liar. They insisted on the charges. I just ended up telling them that I will never do business with them again.

ive ordered from planetxusa many many many times (probably close to 150 records)..i think they've shorted maybe one record that showed was available online. they are always prompt in shipment, and are polite in their return emails.

good service, great record selection, cheap shipping to the US **high import record prices though :( **

ive had a good experience with planetxusa. i've bought about 80 records from them thus far, never once had a problem.

twice, they held up my order trying to back order some AI blues.. both times i got comped with overnight shipping at no extra charge so i still got the records in time for the weekend.. i thought that was hella fat, overnight is NOT cheap, and they basically took a loss twice for me. i can respect that to the fullest.

they always shoot me an email right after the order, and another with billing/tracking details as soon as it goes out...

they package and handle stuff really well, i've NEVER got a warped record from them (this is more than i can say about many other online record shops)

as far as the $40 min order, yes, there is a $40 min. do you think they want to waste the $$ on the box, time involved to ship and process the order, for just 2 or 3 records?

$40 is 4 records. if your not gonna buy 4 or more records, why not just get them local or wait until your gonna make a real order? it does take time to pick, box, process, ship, and bill each order, and there is a cost associated with that, that comes out of thier profit... the more profit they lose to those costs, the more they have to charge for the records...

regardless, if you didnt have a decent experience, get on the PHONE with them and let them know. make them aware your experience is now online for all to read, they'll get on it, i dont doubt it.

good luck

i should add...

if you are looking for some cheap records, search through thier clearances!!!! they have some good deals! 5-6$ imports in a LOT of cases.

Yeah I'll never order from these hognosed pricks ever again either. I ordered 7 records from them and they were just all tossed in a square cardboard box with no packing. WTF?? Then to add insult to injury, one of the records was so badly warped, it was like a pop-top. It would actually stay pushed in and pop back out if I let it set there on a flat surface. I ended up bakin this ****** in an oven as an experiment and I acutally had some success but thats a whole different story. I will say though when I emailed them about the warped record, they promptly refunded my money on that record which was cool. Still though I'll spend the extra cash and get my records from the likes of Juno and Only DJs which take care of me everytime.

actually Meridian,

I DID order the 4 record minimum. They had 3 IN stock. And they sent me 3. NOT 4, but 3. That's what pissed me off. I did go through a lot of emails with them, and in the end the lady said "take your business else where and good luck." So that goes to show you they dont deserve my service. I filed a BBB complaint, and amazingly, mail sent to their address gets bounced back.

I hope those new jersey pricks get more complaints. They are one cocky son of a *****. THey wouldnt admit they made a mistake of shipping 3 records until I yelled at them, and even then they did absolutely NOTHING to correct the situation other than "Thanks for your money but sorry about the order."
MERiDiAN5i2
hmm.. well that does suck.. i'd be a little annoyed too, considering shipping gets hella expensive.

I'll keep dealing with them until they f*ck up on me.. then I will bump this thread in the future so more people can post thier stories, which all need to be heard...

Maybe I've been lucky, but I can't personally talk sh*t about them without being unfair.
