You guys are old and jaded. While I agree the headlining line up sucks(save AC/DC) the rest of the line up is pretty great. Lot of acts/DJ's you would never see play a mainstream US EDM festival. |
Same happens every year. Coachella pulls from a nearly uncountable number of different genres and your average person listens to, what, a handful at most? so when they don't see all their favorite top names on there they call it crap by focusing on the names they do recognize and don't like, while ignoring the 60 other names they've never heard of.
Every year Goldenvoice pulls off arguably the best music festival in the world, and every year there are countless people clamoring about how awful the lineup is.
I'm really sad that I won't likely be able to go this year due to potential job change in the next couple weeks, but at least it's a festival with high resell value so I can put that money towards burning man |

Not nearly as good as last years but of all those names you pick ing Tale of Us to shortlist? Jesus. |
Tale of Us brings an awesome vibe an energy to every party I've been to with them, something I can't say for the majority of the others on that lineup.
What else would you like, some Dirty Bird junk? some hipster house DJ? Dubfire, Guy Gerber, tINI, Carl Craig, Danny T, Loco Dice? Also, what part of this lineup is something I'd never see at a mainstream EDM festival? Granted, there is a few names in there, but nothing to pull out the "you would never see play a mainstream US EDM festival." Coachella defense card.
Yawn, sorry, I just don't see it, but it is "Coachella" so the fanboy defense is strong and I am sure it will be a fun party either way. =D |

| lineup seems pretty 'meh' to me as well. i'm sure it will probably be fun for those that go (the music is secondary for many of us in terms of enjoyment) but there is no one on there i'm excited to see. i thought the last 2 years the lineup was markedly better. |

Tale of Us Sets never go anywhere, They Are the worst DJs out of that camp in my opinion. I would take a handful of the DJs you listed over them but how about Caribou, Todd Terje and his live band, Jon Hopkins, SBTRKT, Tycho, Odesza, Jamie xx, John Talabot, Flying Lotus?
Do you listen to any kind of non electronic music? Broaden yourself. |

Have to agree with this...seen Tale of Us a good 4-5 times both here in the states and Europe. They have been boring or outshined every single time. Listening to a Tale of Us set is kind of like listening to paint dry.
That said, there are enough DJs and bands on the bill each day to have a great time. I would have loved to catch Caribou, War on Drugs, Sturgill Simpson, Jenny Lewis, Lykki Li, etc. + all of the DJs that will crush the Yuma. But in the end a fifth year at Coachella just doesn't sound as appealing as another year at Burning Man, for roughly the same ticket cost. It'll be fun for everyone going though, it always is! (so long as you stay away from Sahara). |

....aaaaaaand this is where I stopped reading
The atmosphere and vibe of a Tale of Us set is only paralleled by a few in the house/tech industry (Dixon, Gerber, Mano) |

I guess we have...different opinions. I think their productions are good, just not their sets. Also must say that everyone else on L+D (Thug******, Tennis, Jobse, Mind Against) are much better. |

i dont think tennis gets enough credit... his sets are something else. and as label boss he gets a large selection of tracks to his disposal.
i can see how some people call tou boring at times, but they do attract a certain kind of listener for this sets. i like them and what they put out. |

Just from the LD/Innervisions continuum alone I'd take Tennis, Dixon, Mind Against, Wiedemann, Beyer, Mano and Recondite over them. That statement is complete nonsense really. |
