Just like the drug of choice nowadays, "molly".

I really don't mind the blow-up of EDM, especially now that we're away from all that Skrillex / Deadmau5 from several years back, but the 'molly' terminology still grinds my gears. Why can't they just call it ecstasy? :(

Because we're not in the 90s anymore? I don't see how the term "ecstasy" or "E" is any less gimmicky, overexposed or exploited than what "molly" is these days. I guess I should be happy that people have forgotten about Smart E's and all that nonsense, though.

The vast majority of "molly" in North America isn't MDMA, it's metholyne (http://www.mixmag.net/words/feature...ng-but-the-girl). So I actually think "molly" is quite a handy term, in drug parlance it's effectively the equivalent of "EDM".

Because it's the term I grew up with, dammit. :o

Seriously, though, I find it annoying that newcomers to a scene can change the terminology. Not that I'd consider myself an old hand (I'm obviously not) or even really part of the scene, but still. Though the use of it does make it easy to tell when people got interested in the scene, I suppose.

Hmm, didn't know this. Figured it wasn't MDMA, of course, but thought maybe mephedrone or some amphetamine. Interesting stuff!

I just call them pills, always have done always will do.

Although Mcat is my drug of choice these days.
