| Been to output, resolute parties, black market etc. They have great parties in NY and there are many factors that play into that. One being you can drink past 2am. Most LA clubs clear out at 2am. They also charge significantly more to get in which means they can book higher quality artists and more of them for events. |

It was pretty much what I expected from Maceo at Exchange. Very average, the usual songs you expect to hear. DJ's just don't play their best sets there but I can't really blame them, the crowd there is . Hell even Digweed's set during NYE there was average.
Who went on after Maceo, was it Shall or Rebolledo because I've heard both from people? Whoever it was, threw down a great closing set.
Anyway, that's why I'm seeing Maceo at Public Works this Friday. He'll throw down a real set there for sure, I believe he finished his set at 630am last year haha. |

Completely agree. Every Digweed and Hernan set at Exchange was meh for me. It's the wrong venue for us music enthusiasts and exactly why I decided not to go see Maceo. Sucks that he was just average but I'm kinda happy I made the right decision for myself not to go :D |

You might not get djs like Maceo Plex but you do get amazing djs that are even better. For example we just had Robag. Over the years I have seen huge djs such as: Ben Klock, Marcel Dettman, Chris Leibing, Pan Pot, Dj Koze, Blond:ish, Eddie Richards, Maya Jane Coles, Craig Richards, Slam, Ian Pooley, and... I even saw Maetrik (Maceo Plex alter ego) years ago. |
yes yes, i get it. not trying to start a pissing match about which dj's are better than others or which parties are cooler (i agree that all those parties were probably better than any night at exchange, in fact, my favorite show from last year was the anthology party with len faki). the point is that when certain dj's come through LA they play like even though they will go play somewhere else the next weekend and blow the roof off. blaming it on the crowd is such a cop-out, unless you meant to tell me that the bottle service patrons at exchange are demanding the dj's play something other than what they want. the blame should be on the dj's for being lazy. maybe if they played a good set they'd get a good crowd. |

I agree DJ being lazy and shouldnt come in with pre conceived notion that its gonna be boring bottle service crowd. but on the flip side my experience with the crowd in LA is a lot more laid back than other places. LA while a lot of people are dancing good portion are standing around going through motion while my experience in other cities 90% of the club dancing and into the music. Plus it doesnt hurt other cities have parties that go on to 7am+ |

| Oh yeah I forgot to mention, for all you guys that go out a lot check out Jukely. It's $25 per month and you can go to unlimited shows. Maceo was free for me and so were all the Guy Gerber shows at Sound. |

If it's $25 per month then it's not free to go to the shows. It's $25/number of shows attended, that will never = $0.00(free) |

Had a good time at that stage too. Didn't really like any other sets. Maybe Seth and Jamie but we were waiting for Maceo the entire time. |
