In the US, maybe. I'd read that Mixmag article I linked if I were you. In the UK pills are mainly imported from the Netherlands and are usually the real deal. They've definitely regained their supremacy over powder/crystals in the quality stakes in the last few years.
I'll take a look at it. Yea I'm in philly and I havent seen a party where everyone was obviously rolling since probably 2005. The old school, real MDMA just doesnt make its way here for whatever reason.

We get pure MDMA up here in Montreal, I know 2 guys who will sell rocks of it so you can snort it from your if you wish.. The Hell's Angels make it here in Quebec somewhere.
You're close to NYC, guarenteed NYC gets pure MDMA.

I ordered this old 1998 mixmag issue on ebay and it seems to have a reading about a 12 hour ecstasy journey. it should be an interesting read.

It really isn't that remarkable. What do you think "afterglow" is? You can still feel the after-effects of the drug the afternoon after a night out, even if you're mostly back to normal by then. In "How To DJ Properly" they warn the reader not to go record shopping the day after clubbing, for this reason.

it's not a revelation but this is The trance tune of '01 imo. AVB closed one of his sets with this.

and didn't Simon Reynolds rename his classic 1998 book Generation Ecstasy to Energy Flash in 2008? Floorfiller might be right after all ...

It was always called Energy Flash in the UK. He changed the name to Generation Ecstasy for the US print.

Warming Up ---->
On Fire -->
Coming Down (maybe a bit to much for coming down) --->
Godking5
This is more appropriate for the final phase

Not in any specific order, but three tracks which, at various moments in the evening, I think exemplify what you're discussing:
Digging the Fluke track.
I'm from a relatively younger generation, so this is the first track that came to mind for me.
