The tickets are $20 online + service fee's or $25 for a hard copy. That's pretty normal for a trance show in the USA. You may see $15 early bird tickets for other shows but those tickets sell out right away and you usually end up paying $20-30. There is free parking and cheap drinks at this venue so the cost is all relative. Personally, I would rather have a crowd of people that are willing to spend a few bucks to help support the cause rather than a room full of people wanting a cheap show.

I agree with this to some extent, but how are you going to attract new attendees without keeping the door halfway open for them?

I'd rather charge less for tickets and more for drinks.

At least that way you're getting people to attend the club first and foremost. And hooking up the true music lovers while you're at it.

Can you tell I like debating?

Oh yea, I promise I'm not puffin' on shwag, lol.

Yes, I can tell you like debating. I have no problem with that as long as it's based on facts and not opinion or hearsay.
This night has been going on for 5 years now so we don't really need new attendees as much as we rely on the regulars and serious trance music fans.
When doing events, it's common for the promoter to keep the door/ticket sales while the bar owner keeps the profits from the bar. Making the drink prices higher makes no sense from a promoters point of view. I personally push for lower drink prices, so everyone can get their proper drink on.
As far as your promise goes... what's the flavor of the month?
OrangestO
Facts? What kind of facts?

There aren't any facts or statistics to quantify music.

I get that you have a bottomline to worry about; it's a business.

This comment says it all for me.

Maybe if you're pulling a bigger name. No offense to the Datt man. Good luck hope you get the regulars out.

What do you think the price should be, Kinetic Energy?

Thanks Faceplant! You haven't taken into consideration that everything in Miami costs more money. The parking in downtown Miami is $35 a day at any hotel or $2 an hour at a meter. Alcohol in Miami is double the price. I'll give you an example. I paid $15 + tax & tip for 1 mixed drink at Space at the last 1 night in Miami show in January and another $8 for a bottle of water! That's almost $20 for 1 drink, almost $30 with a water. So lets say I buy 1 drink in Miami for $20 + admission of $10-15 = $30-35. The Lost in Trancelation shows with headliners, the ticket is $20- $25 dollars, free parking, and only $7 for top shelf mixed drinks (or $3 Beers) + $2 tip = $34. It's basically the same price! Now if you want a 2nd drink, in Miami, your $30-35 (not counting parking) turns into $50-55. At Lost in Trancelation, after your 2nd drink you are at only at $43. The Orlando show is actually going to be way cheaper to attend once you factor in these additional costs.
OrangestO
Lol.

Oh man.
