honestly, theres really an infinity of different way you could approach dnb sound design in zebra...im a fan boy though.......arp sequencer, mseg, lfo, xy, env, modmatrix,
the best thing abuot zebra are its tons of filters and th osc fx..and the arp, and oscillators.....the FM is like a cool bonus....
but it definitely cant do some of the stuff that FM8 can do, its not a fullblown FM synth.....but i think it's more flexible and you can make cooler sounds with it then with an FM only synth |

Zebra is my favourite synth all round but for those formant Reece sounds , I couldn't do it well with just one synth nor have I heard someone do it except a close approximation.
Zebra like many synths almost does the job. I can't think of any synth that doesn't feel liunt lacks in one area. Zebra is rather frustrating because it gets so close. It's fm implementation is terrible and lack of control over phase like ,any additive synths give you is unfortunate. It is annoying because the code for all this stuff is public domain. I thI'm the main problem is that the people making their products dont really use them or push them to realize why they should just add something. |

| The U-he dudes just don't care about what the cool kids want. Well they kinda do, which is why they made Hive. Not realising that's what the cool kids wanted 7 years ago. |

i think that is the problem.
They don't really understand what is being done and are late to the punch. When you become detached from the music scene, well it shows in the products you make .
And i think you are incorrect in that what is cool can be done with a synth. Most sound designers aren't using anything that isn't some weird ed up modular system because what they want to do is beyond the scope of most developers. |

| well i used to think i could any and every sound just using operator and analog.....so yea....that ws false.....but now that i have zebra, i think i can make any sound with it.......soon to be proven...true |

| Massive does not appeal to me as I've never got my head around the whole dongle thing. I just want to buy, download, done, no having to get a dongle and waiting days for it to be delivered.meizu m1 note |
