Mildly more interesting was the fact a senior partner of a large and respected Law Firm in the UK managed this stunning example of his native tongue's syntax, spelling and grammar:
"Always interest to understant people's skill and how we might work together" |

What Boris is trying to say is that Women are happy to use their looks to gain advantage when it comes to say, getting a job, or advancing their career but when a Man compliments them on their looks and is interested in them for their looks, then they call sexism.
He does have a point, but its only a minority and it also applies to both men and women, lots of good looking men have also gained advantage because of their looks.
In some cases its very much part of the strategy and in other cases totally not planned, for example I wonder how many PAs or secretaries have been employed because they looked better than a rival for the job, probably because the man who employed them preferred the way she looked. I would also say it happens the other way around, a lot of men have been employed because the woman interviewing them liked his looks.
In an ideal world, a person would be employed because they hold the skill set required to the do job, but this is the real world, people like to see a pretty woman or a handsome man. |

| ok, by sexism I meant specifically gender roles and stereotype, primarily in western society, which have resulted in, among other things, advantages that are generally associated with being a young girl or a women (ok, mostly its average-to-good-looking girls and women): receiving special attention, receiving valuable presents (cars, jewelry etc.), not getting punched in the face by men in situations where another man would get it (typically), being subjected to less expectation by society in certain areas etc. etc. etc. |

| Right, we forget, if people gain any sort of advantage from institutional discrimination, whether or not they ask for it, they're not allowed to complain about said discrimination. She benefits by not being punched in the face, so she can't complain about being harassed. How could we have forgotten that? |

well who said that one particular example outweighs the other? and you're forgetting that this particular woman (lawyer) made all this fuss because a man said she had a "stunning picture". are you willing to argue the fact that women rely on their appearance to gain things more then men? if not, why is this woman concerned about someone complementing her looks? this doesn't make sense.
i'm not saying women should be harassed or objectified because they aren't being punched in the face. but a lot of women voluntarily objectify themselves in one way or another. and that has to be taken into account |

How was this woman voluntarily objectifying herself?
