I wish I could make a poll for this. two of the biggest years of progressive house in their respective eras.

Hard question, the Guerilla stuff is brilliant. But I enjoy 2000'ish progressive way more.

All oldschool stuff is generally better.

Very tough question, almost impossible to answer. I've had the pleasure of dancing to sets of both in a club (sometimes unexpectedly) and both were an absolute joy compared to 99% of modern club fare. But if I could go to a night and only hear one... I'd probably have to flip a coin.
The stuff from '93 is gloriously rugged and satisfying house music, and when I've heard the odd record mixed into a set of modern house it usually gives the dancefloor a massive kick up the arse. But the stuff from the early '00s has a pumping energy to it that you just can't find in credible dance music these days.
Lest we forget, however, there were a lot of records made in both eras and you still need a DJ to pick the wheat from the chaff. I could play a set of 1993 or 2001 progressive that would bore you to tears.

Hmm, never heard any 2001 proghouse, would any TA members like to share some good examples?

Not sure why specifically 2001 is mentioned, as there are lots of good stuff from the '00 era in general.

More suggestions!

There's so much 2000'ish progressive that is hard to start. Maybe the dark progressive thread, that now has tons of pages lololll
I think that these two mixes are good at showing what is 2000 progressive. The gu019 is very famous, but everytime that I hear it again it looks different.

What is the point of comparing two completely different sounds?

You must have been really at "compare and contrast" essay questions at school.
I think it's perfectly reasonably to compare two periods of the same genre, where one had evolved into the other with most of the same DJs, producers and even records (via remixes and samples) cropping up in both eras.

I guess, since I never did learn to objectively analyze subjective matters.
