Really enjoyed Martina Beach Club. This was the obvious replacement for Mamitas and they did a good job. Drinks were not that expensive and the location right in front of the beach was excellent.
Just got back from Last night on Earth with Sasha and it was great. All the djs were top notch. |

Spot was fantastic, plus Nicole Moudaber shredded that place. Bomb after bomb. |

My second BPM, music was pretty underwhelming for me. Alan Fitzpatrick at Drumcode and Sasha at Last Night On Earth were about the only memorable sets for my five nights. Lots of the same ol stuff, especially Marco Carola, It was like the same generic house tracks on repeat. His sets over in Ibiza over the summer were boring for me as well, think I've just lost all interest in his vibe, but he held it down in the past and was awesome, just feels so dry these days.
Weather was terrible, prices through the roof, and the Mexicans trying to scam you were rampant. The festival just let me down, I think the only way I'll go back is if I am bored and there isn't anything else worth investing some money into at the time. |

This is my 2nd BPM and last year was better for me maybe because of the wow factor the 1st time. BPM festival event pricing was a big let down for attending events outside of my weekend access wristband.
Sasha was the highlight for me along with DJ Tennis and Nicole who round up the top 3. The funnest event was the Dubfire/Hawtin free show at the taco spot.
Last day today..might as well go hard. |

I got lucky since the first weekend was beautiful.
I kinda agree PDC is trash and the mexicans constantly harassing you is annoying.
But the conversion rate is amazing so everything you can buy in local currency ends up being incredibly cheap. 50 pesos for a beer inside the venue or a meal is less than $3.
Still can't get over how awesome Day Zero was. Some really nice pics in this articles. Next year skipping Playa and just doing Tulum jungle parties and staying away from the touristas.

Also the pop up Taco stand party was a lot of fun. |

| I definitely agree with some of the statements above... yeah mexicans trying to scam you are annoying but they can be easily ignored and yes event pricing for BPM this year was definitely a little over the top. Other than that, I still think it beats anything you can do over the winter by far and PDC is dirt cheap, great eats for 60-75 pesos and beers in the venues for 60 pesos (3 bucks) is a steal. I stayed in a nice PDC apartment for what was about $180/night and could have easily fit 4 people. As for the music, Dusky showcase..George Fitzgerald killed it and Dusky played a great set as usual. Jungle party saturday was a little bit of a mess but excellent sets from likes of Lauren Lane and Apollonia. Tronic party had some slamming techno probably the hardest of the festival that most people didnt attend (Webbha was a real highlight). The vibe at the Music On night party was terrible, it was oversold and just packed although the music was good, Music On day party however i thought was killer, great vibe, not overcrowded, and excellent set from Marco (7 + hours). Tuesday i was a little underwhelmed by Mano Le Tough, but Diynamic jungle party was absolute standout, the venue really was done excellently and Solomun just tore the place up. BPM is becoming a little tougher as it gets increasingly popular but i think its just about knowing what is worth hitting and when. Also the Richie/Dubfire pop up was great, straight up block party! |

My second year going and it was pretty good, but not good as last year.
Favorite venues were The Jungle and Canibal Royal. Those places are very chill and vibe seemed spot on to flow with environment. Martina and Blue Parrot were super packed and hectic but doable cause we had to. They need to add another bigger venue like Jungle to compensate for over over ramming these places. Have day parties in Jungle as well. BPM is getting to big now obviously. They make well enough money to expand more.
I do agree the Mexicans constantly bugging you walking around got annoying. Especially them selling you crap drugs. :whip:
Don't wanna get too big on detail most of it you all covered.
Overall great time!! Very nice hanging out and meeting new friends. |
