But can we just agree that Miami itself is what makes that place so damn amazing to party in? NYC may have more "legit" warehouse parties but never I have been anywhere, save for Awakenings itself at Gashouder can compare to the vibe you get in Miami for the really good parties. Between the palpable energy, the people getting down on the floor, and the crazy hot Latina girls, the vibe is simply unmatched. Maybe Ibiza but as I've never been there I couldn't say for sure.
Drinks and accommodation might be expensive in Miami especially for that week in late March but it's a world-class nightlife spot. How many places with bad soundsystems can you even name in that city? Looking at Trade, Space, Treehouse, Story, etc, they all have great sound. When I went to ADE, the only place that even had good sound was Awakenings. The other three venues ranged from straight up bad sound (the Heidi/Steve Bug party at "Barkode") to merely adequate (Mobilee Warehouse and trance party at Westerunie).
I LOVE going out in Miami personally. Though Art Basel week interests me more now that MMW lol.
I usually try and make it to Miami 1 weekend a year not during MMW anyway just for fun.
and totally agree it will be a long time before you see any meaningful decline in Miami parties in March (if it happens at all).

100% agree and I will add that the pool parties and the Yachts add an extra element.

I would just add this being from New york and having Brooklyn in the backyard, yes Miami does not have the same level of warehouse parties BUT we also dont have outdoor parties in March how Mana Wynwood for example does during MMW which is a nice change from where it is still pretty cold mid March in NY. The pool parties at the hotels (Raleigh, National, etc) which a budget travel would also never experience make Miami a nice draw as well where Europe doesnt have that type of party really anywhere and certainly not in March.
I can see easily skipping MMW if you were going to the likes of DGTL or Time Warp, but the last few years for example I've done Awakenings Summer Festival in June, so MMW I still think is and will be going forward a good option for a lot of people. Side note, coming from Ny i only need to use 2 vacation days to come down from Thur night - Mon night which is an added bonus.

Ibiza hands down is the world wide nightclub clear winner. The best clubs, sound systems and vibes I have ever encountered anywhere in the world has been there. You must go!

I'm glad DC10 sorted their system out this year. It sounded like complete last year the 2 times I was in there.

DGTL Fest just announced their lineup for the 26th and 27th. A lot of my favorites on that list. March in Miami prob won't happen for me after a looooong run

Just got goosebumps. That DGTL lineup does indeed look great. Can't fault you for checking out Amsterdam during those dates.

DGTL is the best festival I've ever been too. The Spring Awakenings lineup is ing stupid as well. We'll be celebrating my birthday on the 27th as well.
Friday is Cox, Capriati and Kolsch
Saturday is Adam and Ida all night long.
If you're going let me know! We already have our tickets and we're staying at Museumplein right next to Vondelpark.

Just saw that Awakenings is doing a gig in NYC next February. I'm sure it won't be as good as the Dutch versions but still! Heard the Timewarp gig last weekend was actually pretty damned good.

Time Warp was decent on Friday and PHENOMENAL Sat. Definitely checking out this Awakenings event if its a real lineup and not like the watered down Ezoo stage.

Can't imagine a watered-down Awakenings lineup. That's just now how they roll. I would imagine there will be no less than two enormous names, as well as solid names for the rest of the lineup. Wondering if it's going to be multi-stage like Timewarp or if it will follow the Gashouder/Eindhoven model with just one stage.
At any rate, I'll be there. Just bought a round-trip non-stop to EWR :toothless
