These threads seem to get less and less active every year, but I guess we'd rather have one than nothing at all, right?
I've felt like this has been a really good year for electronic music but I can barely remember anything now. It's kinda weird, isn't it? I think it's because everything moves so fast now. I remember 3-4 years ago, people here barely managed to fit everything in their top 15 and now we're struggling to name 5 :p
I've heard most of these but like the top comment says, they're all in good taste but I haven't really been crazy about any of them.
I've mostly been buying loads of new twelves this year. So much good stuff but in the sea of having ten new labels every week, it's hard to remember stuff :p
As for albums, I think my favorite this year is Acronym - June. I've also been playing:
Abul Mogard - Circular Forms
Leif - Taraxacum
Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol. 3
Född Död – Studie I Närhet
Vril - Portal
Steve Hauschildt – Where All Is Fled
Oh yeah and the new ASC ambient album is really good.

I forgot, the Deadbeat album that came out recently is ing great. Some of his best work for sure.

I stopped doing them because I always discover my real favourites a year or two later, and the lists I used to write just ended up looking very stupid very quickly. Hell, the albums I've played the most this year all came out in 2012, which shows how far off the pace I am.
I think generally the Internet has eroded the sense of there being a definitive selection of records, moments or even styles for a year. Not a single thing on that RA album stands out as a big (sub) cultural moment for 2015. Compare it to this list of the biggest electronic albums from 1995. All of them massive classics that were bought by people across the electronic music spectrum and beyond, and are still fondly recalled two decades later.

I bought a crap tonne of music this year, some of it even released in 2015! Here's a few that caught my ear more than others:
Nick Hoppner - Folk
King Midas Sound, Fennesz - Edition 1
Purl - Stillpoint
Andrew Heath - Flux
Lars Leonhard - Passenger AT Night
Mostly though, a good chunk of this year was spent scouring back catalogs of various downtempo and chill-out labels. As always, I spend more time discovering older stuff than keeping tabs on what's current.

theres so much good music coming out so frequently that not too many songs stand out so much. i been saving the tracklists to the songs i mix before i go out to a party for this year and theres been a lot of robert hood, dj bone from the past, PAS and steffi
when it comes to albums i don't give them too much play time, just basically a once over. with that said i used a lot of the persuader's tracks off his album during warm ups. so i suppose that may be my top album.
i can't really single out a track of the year really but the ones released in 2015 i played most are probably - pas - arc, avgusto -x1,dax j -twilight zone. also that terrence fixmer -aktion mekanik (44 version) is right up my ally.
mark broom i liked a lot this year i think primarily because a lot of his songs sounded like robert hood. that detroit sound is definitely what my mind has been liking this year.
best party was movement festival. two sets i really enjoyed was robert hood in detroit at an after party, he played right before nina kraviz and she just didn't compete. and cell injection. first memory of movement was going into the underground stage and they were on and it was just mental

Joop Junior - Sofie Luci on the new digweed release is outstanding for me.
has that magnificent hook with intricate nuanced sounds.
he has released stuff on richie hawtin's Minus label in the past, but this is more accessible.
addictive! (not addicting)
elsewhere i have been getting into acid :)

Didn't really listen to much 2015 stuff. This was the only one from this year that I heartily enjoyed.

I shall contribute with this thread before the end of the year. :clown:
