View this Thread in Original format
Stanza
Well, after 2 years I've finally got my first blue screen of death for Windows 2000. I know this doesn't happen much for Win 2000 users. Anybody else got the BSOD?

Stanza...u running a gf4 by any chance?

quite a few people have reported problems with gf4 'cos they suck a bit of juice, so if ur power supply ain't up to scratch may be time to upgrade a commonly overlooked bit of hardware :)

only other time i've seen a bsod on win2k is when running an athlon xp in non-xp supported motherboards :p

btw...u can buy that shirt...pity u can't buy the chick too...but she's pretty dodge when u see the full picture :eyespop:...errorware.com i think is the site

How can you get BSODs on WinXP? I never had one yet and I installed XP on 2001-12-23 (never changed hardware since I had ME though (is all I did was put a CD burner in)).

Bad hardware... One defective Gforce 2 mx card = 5000 BSOD

Had to format my computer ones i got my new card cox it crashed that many times... XP's scandisk deleted 500mb files i needed without asking me... now i fear scandisk.

I thought they ditched the BSOD for Win XP. It usually just dies without much sign of a crash - apart form not being able to do anything of course...

I had it 10-15 times upon initial installation, then I learned what actions caused it, and I stopped doing that. Since then, maybe three or four times. The last couple of months I've been using mandrake instead.
