I certainly like the song, but it's rather a traditional track, in comparison to their original work.

Goofy ing song, sampling a tuba is never cool, I was disappointed. Sounds like a ty Gorillaz track. I loved their last album, Im hoping the new LP's good.

Funny, I knew about this a couple weeks ago and something in my newsfeed said it was gonna be released while I was in Detroit...I was all stoked thinking I could grab it when I got home, but no. However, when I switched my music over to Sirius radio from my ipod, the new single was on. Heheh.

Yeah, not feeling this at all. The Avalanches have always been pretty goofy but that main sample/hook is more irritating than endearing. If the album's as dense as the last they could still integrate it smoothly into better stuff, but the fact this is lead single and apparently appears twice on the album makes me a bit worried it's the strongest they've got.

Probably just trying to hook the listeners who don't really know any better. I can see this single being appealing to more of the lowest common denominator, although now that I say that I don't think that's a good thing either.

It's like it was targeted to drug addled white trash. Hopefully this is just a dumb way to get peoples attention and possibly get a gem from the LP.

Do you really think a band that has struggled for 16 years to write a follow-up is going to deliberately create something to reel in the lowest common denominator? They've clearly had massive writer's block. Nobody in that situation makes such a calculating move.
On the surface this track does everything The Avalanches did on their first album. It's simultaneously nostalgic but modern, playful and silly but densely produced. They're trying to repeat the formula, but on this track the spark is missing. Doesn't mean the whole album will necessarily be , but let's be realistic. Since I Left You is an absolute stone-wall classic. There isn't another record quite like it that I've ever heard of. They were never going to match that level, and certainly not after 16 years of struggle.

Yeah, this rather sums up my feelings, except I quite like Danny Brown, so I gather I enjoy this track more than the rest of you :p
