Because your music sounds like rubez made it. |

| I once bought a Poly Evolver just for the blinky blue leds. It hypnotized me. |

| The Poly Evolver is interesting. 16 oscillators and it has wavetable synthesis + 2 dcos. Definitely an option. |

| That's all your budget gone in one go, almost |

Not really. Found a second hand rack unit where I live for 1300€. The problem is I don't know for how long it'll be available :)
Btw I was evaluating instead of getting a mono synth to go straight with a Voyager RME. |

If i was you i would put together a list of synths you like the look of/sound of
then listen to as many online demos as possible, wouldn't be something id rush into - spend a few weeks or months deciding what you want |

Yeah, that's exactly the point. I don't wanna rush and regret afterwards.
Regarding the "sound" aspect I like voyager's sound, but...that sound is so recognizable that it might even be perceived as "dated" (don't kill me I know you can program it and tweak it) but still its got a very characteristic sound, which is its strong and weak point at the same time for me.
The MFB Dominion sounds really good to me. It's raw and powerful but at the same time "neutral" (or maybe simply new on the market).
The MS20 sounds good (I actually do really enjoy the sound of Korg products) but is limited, unless you expand via the modular route, which I won't at this stage.
The Arp Odyssey is just a no for me. Its sound doesn't grab me at all.
The Analog 4 is versatile, but again its sound doesn't do it for me. Sounds somehow "encapsulated" to me. Like, if you compare it to the Minilogue, the Korg sounds somehow raw, fizzy but not harsh. It has a certain bite, but is pleasant.
The P08 is a beast and is definitely on my radar as well.
The Waldorf Microwave XT is the most interesting suggestion so far. Thank you lord for that.
edit: and the Virus is total no. Never liked its sound, never will.
The Nord Lead is a "maybe".
Will check the KingKorg as well. |

Voyager is a mono synth
It's worth waiting to see how much the new Behringer one is too.
12 voice analogue poly with 4 digital FX engines (powered by TC electronic as far as I can tell). Promises to be outstanding.
The Analog 4 doesn't have as much bite as some other analogue synths, but it has voices (can be configured as 4 monos, one 4 voice poly or anything in between) and a killer sequencer. You have to think of it as a performance tool as much as anything else. If that's not what you want, then no deal of course. It can sound much better than most demos show too. |

ok let me get this straight, you want a Mono Voyager RME right?
First of all do you have a pic of your studio? if so do you have any treatment whats so ever? A good sounding interface and decent good sounding monitors? |
