It's the usual time were you forget what even came out this year. On that list there are a few good records that I liked - Huerco S, Skee Mask, Convextion, but I didn't fully love any of them even thouh all have some great moments. I highly recommend checking out the VC-118A record out though, great moody atmospheric electro album.
Regarding stuff that isn't on the list, everyone should check out the Barker & Baumecker album on Ostgut, best techno LP I've heard in ages. Incredible production and sound design, super long tracks, super deep in places, great melodic sequences, creative mix of breaky UK and trance-y influences. https://hardwax.com/45700/barker-and-baumecker/turns/
There's probably more i'm forgetting but these are the ones that come to mind right now.

Really didn't hear anything genuinely great this year. The highlights were a few nice ambient techno albums I won't post because you'll just start moaning about how they don't sound "analogue" enough for your liking.
I did discover a number of great albums this year, including some ambient/downtempo stuff from the early '00s, which is a bit of a forgotten era for that sound. It's generally the way of things that I discover the best albums years after they were released. It's just too saturated a market to attempt to keep tabs on things.

I was a little out of touch with electronic this year too - haven't really heard many from that RA list. It was more about pop for me this year Blood Orange - Freetown Sound being the highlight.
In electronic albums it was Dorisburg - Irrbloss that I kept coming back to.
Not sure how I missed that Barker & Baumecker album, thanks for the heads up.. Love is a battlefield is one of my favourite tracks in recent memory!

I had two albums from their top 20. Omar s and vc118a were both good. Really didn't like the baumeker and berker album. I preferred the PAS album but that didn't live up to his previous ones. Floor plan was a good one, when I get home I'll have to reassess because I can't remember about anything these days

The latest Dusky album was excellent.
Also enjoyed the Cubicolor and Croquet Club albums.

i can't really choose a favourite album amongst many different styles so albums that contained a good amount of songs i liked in no particular order ; aybee - the odyssey, doms & deykers - evidence from a good source, alpha 606 - afro-cuban electronics, elka- chants, ufocus - guidance for the puzzled, PAS - arch angel, floorplan- victorious, omar s -the best, ma spaventi - isola sommersa, heinreich mueller & the Exaltics - project sts-31 - spiralgalaxie. if i had a gun to my head right now and was forced to choose it would probably be project sts-31 -spiralgalaxie.
It's always nice to see a fellow countryman kick this much ass, but I'd have picked this one even if Urbandawn came from someplace else. There's a lot of variety in this album, and I like the blend of liquid funk and the occasional angry bassline on track 4... So addictive.
This was so much fun! Solo 45's "Feed Em To the Lions" is still the best grime track of 2016, but Konnichiwa is just amazeballs in grimy form :)

Maybe I spent too much time making tracks this year. You start dreaming about saturation processors and get really anal about things like texture :haha:
That said, I thought the new ASC album was nice (just nice though, hence why I didn't put it in the OP) and that one is crystal clear ambient.
I'm constantly discovering old stuff and I couldn't even make a list of that even if I tried. But I do remember also getting more into early 2000s labels like City Centre Offices. This one I do remember being on rotation all summer.

Nice to see RA's allowed some color back into their selections for AlbumsOfYear - what was with that pure B&W cover art period anyway?
Some of my selections: Prins Thomas - Principe del Notre Shaded Explorer - Empatia SiJ & Textere Oris - Reflections Under The Sky Randal Collier-Ford, Flowers For Bodysnatchers, Council Of Nine, God Body Disconnect - Locus Arcadia
And a whole lot of stuff from the past that I picked up this year.
Cover Art Of The Year: Convextion - 2845
Albums That Will Likely End Up On This List Once I Properly Listen To Them: Banco de Gaia - 9th Of Nine Hearts FSOL - Environments 6 & 6.5 Sabled Sun - 2148

The Floorplan album was pretty good actually. Inspired some particularly manic Fifa 2016 sessions. I love the random disco interjection near the end as well.

I keep forgetting this exists. Probably because I was holding out for a listen before I dropped the dollar for a double album, but I should just buy it. I always do anyway.
Any chance of a micro-review to push me over the edge?
