I keep forgetting this exists. Probably because I was holding out for a listen before I dropped the dollar for a double album, but I should just buy it. I always do anyway.

Any chance of a micro-review to push me over the edge?

It's the first double-LP from FSOL since Lifeforms! Kinda' reminds me of that album too.

Okay, maybe slightly more macro than that.

I still have plenty of albums to listen to. So far my favorite is:

Mind Lotion - Altitude Attitudes
pkcRAISTLIN
not sure i listened to any other albums in full this year, but eric prydz's opus had the kind of good track % i haven't seen since metallica were good, so im sure it would've won my coveted best album award regardless.

Not sure I can provide much more without talking out my arse. I've only given it a casual listen while taking a snooze, preferring to save a proper playback for when I can devote some time to it. It reminded me of Lifeforms in that there's a lot of sampling and natural sounds, often contrasted with futuristic pieces as it plays through. I wouldn't say it's as cohesive as Lifeforms though, but then that's the Environments series in a nutshell anyway.

This year, for the first time ever, RA didn't include mix CDs in their top lists. Is this a sign of the mix CD truly being dead?
