Yes?

People still go to Paris. People still go to New York. People still go to night clubs in Orlando. People still go to ______

Most people don't live their lives in fear, despite what mainstream media might push 24/7.

edit: lol, wrote no instead of yes initially, was answering this question:

they shut down all the parties at 230/3am this morning local time... it was the last night of the festival anyway.

As more info has come out it appears that the shooting was not directly tied to the festival but no doubt people will think twice about not just going to BPM next year but Playa del Carmen/Tulum/Cancun in the near future IMO.

nothing official, but it looks like Mexico doesn't want BPM back...

it's over: https://djmag.com/news/bpm-festival...el-carmen-again

There's a lot of politics behind the scene as well, on top of possible destabilized cartel in the area. Add to all that this PR nightmare....

Jan is now wide open for a similar type festival to happen somewhere warm and safe.

It's not Mexico who doesn't want it back, it's PDC. The same that happened to EDC LA is happening here. LA didn't want EDC, so they moved to Vegas. PDC doesn't want BPM, so they'll move somewhere else.

But like Spin Laden said, there's tons of politics involved. I even read one article where they quoted a city official saying that BPM doesn't even apply for the permits until after they have sold tickets. The same official said that this is a problem because if they deny permits, presale holders will think BPM is ripping them off. Not only that, but just like EDC, the official was saying they're tired of all the drugs and that they rather loose money and bring in a more sober crowd.

yeah there's a lot of rich ppl living in Playa and rich tourists who do not care for a BPM that brings a cartel element with it. BPM had been rumored to move the past couple of editions so this is the nail in the coffin.

Is Cabo as safe as Playa was before the shootings? How about Panama or Puerto Rico?

I be down for this but I don't think Cabo's layout works with everything so spread out and no 5th street. Plus moving it to another part of Mexico doesn't really help with the Cartels/Drug violence?

time to bail out of Mexico :nervous:
Cool1g
^^ can you or someone translate that for me?

my spanish isn't that great.

even with the things said the past 24 hours by the City, i'd still be a bit surprised if it didn't return.

one thing i am curious about is how busy these clubs are the rest of the year...
