I'm 32, born at the end of 1984 but I feel like I should've been born in 1972. The more I talk to people, listen to music, and watch old videos of the early 90's, the more I realize that you were either there for it and that time and place to experience the vibe and moment of dance music, raves, the culture of love. Last week I watched a clip of N-Joi performing Anthem at Quadrant Park. The energy and the vibe was incredible. You can't replicate that anywhere in the world, no matter how many big name festivals you have. It's kind of how Americans of a certain age refer to the summer of love in 1965 in San Francisco. You were there, or you missed it. I'm nostalgic for an era I was never a part of.

Also, in the last year, ive been listening to old music that I never knew about or had a chance to listen to. I've come to the conclusion that 1990 and 1991 were THE years for music. It was the prime years for alternative rock and grunge, hip hop and rap were in their prime; techno, house, jungle, DnB, and trance were in their infancy. Creativity and diversity were being promoted. I think I also like the raw sound better than what you get today. Less polished or processed. I suggest checking out various form of music from that era, you won't be disappointed.

/I should probably start a 1990-1991 thread
