You can see the guys point. The 2fm dj obviously doesnt take it as seriously as pvd. I mean common sense here, as ive said above he wont lose any money by a few radio rips flying around the net. Whats the worst that can happen to him? a few of his biggest fans on the net get to hear 3 minutes of a new tune by him? big deal pvd! It aint hurting ur pocket.
To sum up how stupid that bootlegging thing is:
"Oh i have the latest pvd tune that is quality and has a crowd roaring in the background and a 2fm jingle over it. it has no intro or outro for mixing. I know ill press it up on 100 12" at a cost of nearly £1500 and sell em for 15 a time. Oh wait no one will buy them because they are quality and has a crowd roaring in the background and a 2fm jingle over it. it has no intro or outro for mixing."
For pvd to say he would be bootlegged is absolutely ing stupid. |

I also respect his reasons. Armin also mentioned in an interview that he didnt want to play his new tunes on the radio because they will be ripped as an mp3.
He is not suffering from a mental disease.

i think he plays only the latest tunes inclusive his own productions at ASOT :) |

If seems like he dislikes PvD. So who says the story is true?
about 50 PvD sets are released every year on the radio, so why would he stop this one? |

| just as a side note here, are some dj's who've gained success from mp3s helping ppl discover them now turning their backs on them ? |

This story is completely blown outta proportion. Tons of PvD sets have been broadcasted live without PvD's objection. Bootlegging is something the artists have to deal with and with PvD's up coming album his reason for not allowing the set to be recorded was very justified. He wants to release the tracks he made, he doesn't want bootleggers or ripping teams to get their hands on it and make the release of the single when it actually comes out.
Anyways, thats what I think. Flame away... |

mmmhh. I still don`t get it.
>>I<< should be one of the people complaning about PvD stuff not being released yet I don`t do it. why? Well, I understand is his work and few times it es exclusives for his sets only.
I also love exclusivity, I mean, who doesn`t! play some tracks never to be released or not to be released for X period of time.
Most of you should think first. If you want to hear that 'certain' track, go to the club and see the DJ ;)

i can see what ur saying as far as people will be sick of it by the time it comes out, but if u mean bootleggers as in 12" vinyl i dont agree. Would u buy or be happy with a radio rip if u bought it on a 12"? HAve u ever seen a radio rip on a 12"?
i do understand the point about ruining the anticipation of the track but i could gaurentee people would still buy the 12" when it came out as theyd want to have it or at least have a full version. |

| i agree. his reply to your email chris was totally uncalled for. very disrespectful to PvD for such an innocent question. from his tone, he seems to have a very biased outlook towards him and i wouldn't doubt that some of those things were exaggerated... |

| Tell me though. If any of you were a producer, wouldnt you want every quality DJ including yourself to spin your latest tracks and have them broadcasted? I certainly would. Having everybody knowing and loving a new track by me would be the greatest feeling. Paul doesnt seem to share this enthusiasm though. |

perhaps, he does not want this tracks played out?
I mean, have you noticed that only a few Paul van Dyk tracks get remixed? I mean, you can count them with both hands. :D
For an Angel (WOW, Asthrax)
Words (Curve, Mana, Quattara)
Forbidden Fruit (BT)
Beautiful Place (Salt Tank)
We Are Alive (DJ Icey)
Vega (Starecase)
I think that is most likely it. I PvD tracks don`t need remixes at all
;)
