Paul van Dyk too "snotty" to have his GK Ireland set broadcast???? (pg. 3)

I say fai play to PVD. I wouldn't want a load of copies of my new tunes out before I'd had the chance to play them out. DJs must get a lot of pleasure out of playing their new tracks at clubs, but if everyone's already heard the versions then it's not the same. They're his tunes and he can do what he likes with them. No one has the right to listen to them just because they're there.

And the guy from the station - no doubt he's one of those DJs who always thinks faster & louder = better and was playing lots of hard before PVD came on, in which case he wasn't doing his job properly and should be sacked. :whip: :D

I think this if people are ripping songs to listen to thas fine but as long as the vinyls are pressed and the track is hot people are goin to buy the vinyls. You cant mix off rips, plus ure gettin ure 20 g's so i mean the mp3 thing is kinda lame. But its PvD's music and it is a concern so y not take precautions and yea those words sound like the words of a jealous washed up wish i was PvD man to me.

i have to say paul sounds like he can be a fagat at times...
even when i saw him live he seems up himself...
local djs who have spun with him tell me this too...

i HIGHLY doubt pvd is that "snotty." he is a really shy guy. ask helen, she met him, and i'll take her word over some random e-mail ANYDAY!!

but i CAN understand why he might not want his set broadcast. but whatever.
dj_helen_k
im on pauls side....
its the right choice.....
i can honestly say hes in the right.......

ive seen MANY dj's object to having their sets recoreded (ranging from superstars to wannabees etc) , and in my opinion, it is up to THEM if they want it to be shared or not as a liveset / mp3 etc etc.

I can imagine Paul' wanting his tracks 'exclusive' and not available to be ripped and distributed as yet, purely because he may also be ;testing them out, and , perhaps even still changing them and revising them even still....etc etc... i know he has stong opinions on the MP3 matter, and all i can say is that good on him ... his choice, no one elses, not the radio's .....

THe guy that wrote back to u is a ...sorry to say,
it sounded like a personal attack on Paul....not needed.!

Paul is such a humble and shy guy.... he is no way as egotistic as "other"s out there (wont mention any names, u know WHO i mean....)

:D

bring on the DVD i say!

Paul isn't doing it for the money. He survived 18 years of communist regime remember?

I think he likes the upcoming album to be a surprise. Forbidden fruit 2002 was played lots of times now, but nobody has it on mp3 yet.

I think that's good.

When I buy the DVD or the new album, I wanna be surprised from beginning to end. That's the whole idea.

I bet everyone here not agreeing with PvD is either

A) a CD dj
B) a Final Scratch DJ
C) doesn't know there are FS and CD dj's killing the industry.

Paul has let MANY of his sets be recorded and broadcast, if he's testing new stuff and doesn't want every FS DJ to be playing his stuff, then let him. I'm sure that 2fm guy wasn't giving up the whole story. ON either account.

Yet he is the one that said that without MP3s he probably would not be where he is at today  Lame, I guess once you get a fairly high ranking on that DJ list thing you start looking at things differently.

Excite
there hasn't been a PVD massive set recorded sine Nature One back in early august!
