I truly do enjoy the mundane. In moderation of course. :D

I'm joking of course, I enjoy doing those things sometimes too. Cleaning, washing dishes, working with your hands in good for the mind.

We just got a new kitchen sink and it's totally changed how I take care of the kitchen. We run the dishwasher every single night now and I wash cutting boards/knives immediately after use. Routine can be a good thing to establish healthy habits. Seeing a clean kitchen every evening makes me happy, and I feel like less of a lazy piece of garbage.

We run it every second or third day, which means I'm not only daily washing cutting boards and some knives, but also kettles and pans. After 15 years of marriage I can't remember when this went wrong, so when the misses asks you also to wash the kettles and pans remember this :)

We were able to get away with running it every other day before children, but he's got all his little bowls and plates and sippy cups that need to be washed so those end up filling the dishwasher. I'd just as soon do it every day anyway, that way I'm not like ", the cheese grater is dirty? Well I guess I won't be grating anything today!"
You bored enough yet, Kenny? Don't let me get started on laundry!

I'm good in ironing as long as it is occasionally :)

I grew up without a dishwasher and with parents who would share washing/drying the dishes after every single meal.
This left me with a really annoying habit of constantly having to see a clean and empty sink after a meal. When I met my common-law it was hard for her to adjust to washing dishes after every meal, but after a while it became routine.
I've always, always, always washed cutting boards and my knife set by hand immediately after use, even when I lived in an apartment that had a dishwasher. It adds to the longevity of the knife, especially with its sharpness.
Anyways I can't understand how people just leave a pile of in the kitchen sink for even a day. It makes me shudder. With all the countless stuff we end up doing every day that eats up time (like posting on TA for example lol), there's gotta be enough time in the day to do the dishes.
