ok so I am a few minutes early. Whatever! What is the soundtrack for the night and what is going on?

I've been back on the Pete Tong Essential Mix mood so that is all i've been streaming. Really digging Artbat - Atlas ...and really any Artbat.

Heading up to MI for the weekend to visit fam. No kid and plenty of drinks.

I'm excited for all the wrong reasons.

Yesterday night I was put on a drip for the first time ever in life. I had one hell of a food poisoning, got all dehydrated, and made friends with the staff at the hospital because I was happy with all the new experiences. The results were underwhelming though, I was told buscopan and dramamine would knock me out, they didn't.

As for the soundtrack, I've been practising for the EMF Remix Contest, and I'm having so much fun with my Black Friday splurge. Trying my hand at trap music this time around, let's see how this goes :p

We are going to Nashville to see Kacey Musgraves today. My wife has been hammering her new album since the baby was born. I don't particularly care for modern country but her album doesn't really sound like that at all. She's a really talented vocalist and knocked it out of the park with Golden Hour. I can see why she won those Grammy's.

I've got a wedding fayre to get through on Sunday at the place we've booked for 2021 so with so much to do, I'm all over the place with my last 3 played tracks being

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz5Tx3yq6Lo which comes out very soon on the Manifest remixed album. It's blown my mind since hearing it on a Let it roll set.

Some Mat Zo under his MRSA Alias - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGr7kMhyo-Q

and then the randomness that's come with my old age, I revisit one of my favourite albums, which I believe they're performing live this year in the UK at least,

Working! Thus, my soundtrack is the soothing sounds of call bells, IV pumps, cardiac monitors, and constantly ringing telephones. Woooooo!

I've already been out and come home again. My company had organised a pool tournament with open bar just a few minutes walk from my flat, so I went down for a few hours and had some free beers. Won a few games, lost a few. My potting has gone to because I never play any more, but I've still retained a solid safety game, so I managed to niggle my way to a few decent victories.

I couldn't stay out late because my new wardrobe is being delivered in the morning, so I need to hump it over to the new house and wait around for that. 'Aving it. Although I've just discovered a friend could be moving in just down the road from my new place, which would be wicked.

Artbat are a decent shout. Atlas was top of the Beatport charts recently and they seem to be on their way to stardom, but their tunes are very playable, just riding that nice line of big room without being too naff, and you can mix them in with a lot of different stuff. I bought Upperground from the same EP.

On a vaguely similar tip, I was bumping this on the walk to the pool hall. Still unreleased at present but getting hammered by all the prog boys. This is the kind of tune I would play at 1am, three tracks into a set when everyone is coming up hard on their drugs:

Well, Carnaval over here:

Subs for you Marcus :) and the last 30 seconds after they found the drop is the international version so you can all easily sing along :D

The song says kick the people living above the main rivers in our country back over the Maas (river in the middle of the country) because some come to celebrate Carnaval here, but only drink like idiots, make a mess and think is't okay to go after women.

This picture below shows nicely how cultural different the people in the south are compared to the north of the country as it's a picture of Carnaval Parades this year. The wide blue area is the province of Noord-Brabant, the small one with more red and orange squeezed between Belgium (Leuven) and Germany (Koln) is Limburg where I live.
Together there are over 700 parades in these two provinces.

I am a sucker for that playable big room prog. Cid Inc has some nice grooves too. I wish I had the time to burn to listen over some tracks. Way back when I was mixing a lot I would spend a whole day just previewing tracks...a whole day prepping like 8-15 tracks for a weekly mix.

And now that I am looking back, 2006 (june '06) and 2007 I have 730 tracks downloaded from beatport, 12 gigs. All bought for my lil podcast I mostly played for TA. So much fun digging through new stuff.

Boomer, I remember tuning in to your weekly mix on TA radio when I first joined up here. Good times.

You used to play this one on a regular basis (can't remember the remix though!)
