Damn Marcus, that doesn't sound good :( Hope you feel better soon!

Not much on here today. I think I'm going to binge watch the rest of Good Omens, which I'm thoroughly enjoying so far.

Bro, you might just be getting old? :wtf:

I have no clue what is going on this weekend!

From what I read Tylenol helps and there are some home remedies available thru google if you have papaya leaves to wheat grass juice in your fridge other than that, I hope you can get vaccinated soon homie.

Thanks for the messages. Just a quick follow-up: when a doctor tells you that you should do a quick check-up after a couple of days just in case, you do the damn check-up.

I figured I was getting better and going back to the hospital wasn't necessary, but my wife thought it wouldn't be a bad idea as my temperature wasn't coming back down and they could get me some more prescriptions or something.

Long story short, the moment the doctor got my results, I was admitted immediately, and didn't leave the hospital for the following 4 days. My blood platelet levels had plummeted to a third of the required minimum, and I was told I had developed hemorrhagic dengue, which can be fatal if left untreated. Luckily, I was put on the drip for so long my insides were flooded 24/7, and that's how you treat dengue.

I was then discharged on the 4th of July because of freedoms. And, here I am :D

Wow man, glad you're alright and you came back. On contrary, that is quite the story, phew. We almost lost a mod, wow.

Yeah, from what I could gather, I was this close from being a goner :(

The one thing that made me not panic when the doctor told me I'd have signed off if I stayed at home was that I couldn't help but laugh at the fact I'd have checked out from this world in the most stereotypically possible Brazilian way: killed by a tropical disease that put my blood platelets on strike because I wanted to stay in and watch the Seleção thrash some team on Copa América :D

That's second only to death by cavaquinho, which I'm sure is a thing.

See, men need wives so they won't die!

In seriousness, goddamn Lira! Glad you're okay! Scary .

I was starting to get worried about you but good to hear you’re ok. Btw how long have you been gue?
Lira
Let's see... I first felt the symptoms the Tuesday before I posted this thread, was admitted the day after I posted it, and I was discharged on the 4th of July.

So, officially... 10 days?

Damn Marcus, what a story, I'm glad your wife made you go and you're still here!
