UAD Quad Satellite arrives tomorrow, can't wait to demo all them bad boy plugins.
alanzo
UAD is nice, the EQs are my favorite.
Hides in Shadow
Yep, aside from analog classics that comes with any thing bought UAD I have Cambridge EQ, at the time I just wanted an ordinary EQ with UAD precision, idk I got it as one of the discounts. I really cannot wait to try the Moog High/Low Pass filter and the delays even tho I just bought an external, I love everything delay.

Soo..Tonight I'm pulling the plug on logic going all Bitwig 3 now for its deep-user-friendly workflow.

🤠 Donate your copy of Logic to me then. :p I refuse to pay any more for a DAW. I'm using Bandlab Cakewalk on PC which is free, although I invested in Sonar Producer 8. For the Mac I have Tracktion Waveform or GarageBand. I'd love to get a hardware sequencer like those old big Roland or Yamaha boxes BUT I'm really trying to keep spending a minimum.

🐻 Seriously, with the type of trance music we are making we don't even need a DAW. You could do all your work in Audacity using layered wavs. Do you even tempo-change within a song?
Hides in Shadow
Nah that's okay, I think one day Logic will be fun and intuitive like Bitwig. Some times, I would do tempo changes but if the duty calls but right now I'm leaning towar.ds finishing something in Bitwig at the time being.

I think Storyteller was doing that for a while; just using samples.

Isn't logic only $100 now. You can prolly get a used license for $50.

I'm starting to hate logic though; the timing/snap to grid bugs are driving me nuts.

In the last update they removed the customizable mixer section so no more skins and themes, so ya gotta stare at the same for as long you're using it. Another note, I didn't know apple lets logic 2nd hand license transfer, I bought Bitwig for 250 used, still waiting on confirmation email.

Logic Pro X is $319.99 AUD. That's a good price for somebody who doesn't have any instrument & effect plugins yet. But for somebody like me who only needs the sequencer functionality it's steep considering there are free alternatives. I produced for at least six years using only the XP-50's onboard sequencer with its 16000 note capacity limit & the only elements missing from my tracks to be commercially viable were vocals, risers & a good mastering.

Huh, seems it's $199 here in the USA now.

Never realized that Ableton is actually $500.

Have you thought about cubase elements? It's only $99.

Ableton don't do paid point upgrades like Cubase and it tends to be a few years between actual paid upgrades. The free updates and content they release in between are also significant. Some of the more recent M4L packs like CV tools and Creative Extensions are really, really good. Could easily be $79 packs if they decided, and they'd sell.

In the good old days (read 90s) there was nothing else as far as I'm aware. :toothless
But yeah, somewhere in the last 10yrs I've done a few tracks like that too. But, Audacity? Nahhhh I'd rather not.

They even do discounts when upgrading 2 full versions. I went from 8 to 10 without having to pay in full.
