That's right, Rann ran off somewhere to smoke crack. He thinks he is better than us so a Rann meltdown will be unlikely.

making up lies on internet forums must be one of the finer things in life. Its top 3 behind washing your with a soap bar after a heavy ting day and applying lotion to your after a heavy ting day

So basically you were lying on that occasion to try and win the argument.
Oh jack, unpredictability isn't your strong suit, is it?
The moment you posted this:

You always say that, though. Apparently you never, ever heard Oakenfold clang either.
My brain said, my god, is he still seething over being trolled in that thread?
Partially confirmed only a post later when you quoted me, but left off the first part of that sentence, which I'll post seeing as you slyly edited it out:

I told you then and I'll tell you again, that thread was a thinly veiled troll (if you also remember, I was stating that Oakenfold invented trance - you should have clicked right there and then)
I've knew that thread got under your skin at the time, but I honestly didn't truly believe you had dwelled on it for 5 years, but it was confirmed for sure with:

Much as I respect your command of vocabulary, one thing you've never been is a man of few words
So this sealed it; you were fishing to try to catch me in something from that old thread and I was happy to supply some bull.....
but if you had only just googled what I said:

He mixed the track (I think it was Bullet in the Gun as I always hated that track) and I could literally hear the several bad warps as he continually nudged it to get it in time and it fought him all the way until the end of the transition, so basically galloping beats.
You really didn't find this oddly specific? Down to the exact track? Something you could and should have so easily googled?
Because had you not been so desperate to somehow prove you weren't trolled back then (Still gives me the lol ) you would have instantly found out that Oakenfold never played the birthday at Gallery.
But better still, the night in question was an essential mix......
.....with Paul.......
Van Dyk.
Who also didn't play the track I mentioned either :p
I did leave enough breadcrumbs though as both Tall Paul and Pete Tong did play. Just googling Gallery 1999 would have got you there.
You could have caught my bull so easily in this thread had your rage over that old thread - which obviously deeply ingrained in your grey matter - not got the better of you.
Enjoy the set though (Sadly without any Djing or "clanging" from Oakenfold):
Btw, got any sets from that period of Oakenfold "trainwrecking"?
Sykonee
Well dang, gang, Oakenfold had to pull out of Shambhala, which means I won't get to see if he might clang like Krang with a bottle of Tang.

Well, life is not a boomerang, why go out with a whimper when you can go out with a bang? If you can't see Oakie, go rent a Mustang and drive around with friends like you're the Kuomintang!
Or something, it's hard to keep making sense :p

Setting up tonearm height, weight, skip, headshell angle needles really isn't difficult, that's not the issue but honestly, I've always found DVS fiddly. Sometimes you don't get a perfect signal donut, different needles give different outputs and then there's all the pluggin which takes it toll on connectors (and I really don't want to have to try to find and solder vintage vestax RCA sockets).
Then this..

After nearly a decade mixing, I finally have got my all time dream set-up....but (thanks to my new sony MDR 7509 HD 'phones) it seems to have brought a problem to light that maybe I couldn't quite hear before:
I've done a fair amount of research, both my own over the years and various other sources but there seems to be a lot of debate and conflicting opinions on the correct set up for Ortofon concords. I'm not talking about just tonearm counter weight, but the tone arm height adjustment.
The general consensus is that 2.5g to 5g is acceptable depending on you mixing style but it's the height that there seems to be little or no accepted rule; some say have the lockring at 1, others at 4, 5 or 6. And yes, even though the manufacturer's guidelines are to have the tonearm level with the platter, this is firstly very hard to do accurately and also highly subjective for such a precise piece of kit.
The problem I have experienced, is that with the weight set 3g (good balance of tracking vs. protection for the record) is that when I play a tune and listen through the phone's or monitors, at the peak of the kick transient there is a short, small but noticable "flap" of bass (by this I mean a dull distortion of the lower frequencies. I though this could be my phones or monitors (as it is similar to a blown or worn driver) and it goes away when I exert more pressure (with my finger) on the needle. I have also tried running it through a pure phono amp so it's not the mixer either.
Does anyone have any input on their ortofon concorde setup or know what the actual tonearm height should be, in relation to counter weight and anti skip???

Juanita, I understand you're probably off the meds so i should take it with a pinch, but you're going in to manic mode (again), carpet bombing all forums with nonsense.
I know I mocked you about selling your power conditioner becuase it makes you "hear things" that aren't there.......and bringing up the fact that someone talked you in to buying a $1500 USB cable becuase it makes it "sound better" :haha: but you're going to get yourself banned again.
That said, I can't even figure out what you're trying to say with these two posts?
I have no idea what Gotcha you think you've come up with.
one thread from 2019 states I've set up 1000's of decks (not least becuase I was the sound and light guy at a few large clubs both in the UK and Toronto and I worked for the largest Audio Retailer in Europe and was both a Technics and Moog service engineer for years). In fact Freak, in that thread, knows I worked there and I worked on a couple of the mixers that came in for service from the clubs he worked at. but that i used to set them up for customers who bought them from the retailer I worked for.
The other thread is from 2007 stating after a over decade of mixing I finally have my dream setup (Again true - I finally got a Vestax PMC55 then and MK5gs).
Which bit of info are you having trouble processing?
Or are you - as you said in the other thread - just "trying to make "pew pew" conversation"

:toocool: Lets narrow it down a bit, shall we?
