you!

Beautiful.

We've had trees with red leaves here this year (rare occurrence) and it reminds me of Canada.

We're about set on moving to Spain next year, but we've talked about Toronto or Montreal. Just too cold.

I really miss those trees and lakes though. Canada is awesome.

It was 20+ degrees today! I was out on a 2+ hour walk on my fave trail as pictured above. Just magic. I love this time of year. Glad I enjoyed today. :)

My younger step daughter is getting married Sunday afternoon here on the farm. So this week, and today in particular, has been crazy getting everything ready. Tonight is my last night of work before taking my annual 2 week vacation. It's been unseasonably warm here, but that changes tomorrow with a cold front. This is my week to work our "split shift" to cover the night operators until they are finished, so I am waiting on them and watching a YouTube documentary on the Dyatlov Pass Incident. The autopsy reports are just NUTS!

The "lake" here at the farm. It's not really a lake, more like a BAP (big ass pond), but that's what we've called it since we were kids.

That is so pretty!

Thank you. The entire place is, really. I still, even after a year, can't believe I "own" it. It's very surreal. I don't feel like an owner, as I never really worked to earn it. I feel more like a caretaker, entrusted to watch over it and to try to keep it in the family until I too am gone.

If you squint, you can see we're finally starting to get a little color. This is on the way down the hill to the "lake," which is off to the right beyond the tree line.

I keep a walking path through the pasture mowed along with the yard. It's about 1/3 of a mile, so three loops around gives you a good even mile. Again, a little color starting to show here near the end, where the pasture meets the driveway.

This is the corner of one of the longer, rectangular pastures that runs north/south. This is looking south towards some power lines that TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) ran across the property some years back. Dad talked them into moving the other towers and lines over to avoid destroying a beautiful grove of huge birch trees down by the cabin. This is the corner that the most deer and turkey aggregate in this time of year. Everyone and his brother begs to go hunting in that corner.

Wow really beautiful. Can't believe you've never shared pictures before. How very fortunate you are! This land is lucky too, to have someone tend to it so lovingly. :)
