The thing is delerium events draw the huge bunny crowd. Example, Ministry of sound, metros was packed out pretty much wall to wall. A month before, a better line up, more appealing to perths crowd i would have thought yet not a delerium event drew 2000-2500. That what i call poor.

The fact that people only come out for delerium , and probably the fact they get industry tickets if it is a delerium event. Bah.

at the big events here in perth (gatecrasher / ministry etc etc), trance is always in the best room, and always gets the most support..

to me that says alot..

i cant understand why no one has picked up on this and started playing trance at local events, or started a regular club night or something...

i also cant understand why delirium ditch trance, when they can obviously see how much support trance gets at their events.. delirium only seems to put on trance when they aint paying for it.. godskitchen, gatecrasher etc.

But most of Melbourne is flooded by Hard trance and NRG... its horrible. :(

I second that rob, no trance event in Melbourne it sux

1 - What are you guys going on about plsatic. Isn't it still at Zen.

and 2 - from what I've heard, I was under the impression that Melbourne was all techno.

Not much trance in the Gold Coast, most of it is all commercial rubbish.

The only decent club i was able to find there was "the mansion" which is hidden away from all the other clubs, althoguh its more hard trance really.

You'll be sad to know that Mansions is no longer. It changed name twice since then and at last i heard has turned into a bar which plays live music. Apart from the odd night every now and then in Brisbane or the Gold Coast...trance is no where to be seen.

As far as the Gold Coast goes, mansions is about the only place that plays something that resembles trance. But trance is not dead. We have a regular trance/hard house night in Adelaide where usually 800+ people come called "Chemistry".

Unless you're in Adelaide where Ferry Corsten gets chucked into a warehouse while Tall Paul plays main stage... (which I have no objections to since it meant we could throw up records to him).

Nope .. Zen shut down about a month ago. Apparently the Zen's owners didn't inform Plastic it had closed until about 3pm Friday (Plastic usually kicks off at 10-10:30pm Friday). They managed to hold it down the street at Yu, but I don't think that's going to be a permanent fixture...

I play at some functions at Metros perth sometimes aboout once a month and i always push the Trance. the reason why clubs dont really play it is because no one buys drinks!!! they just pop ez . thats what alot of the management tells me. its all about making money at the bar. i always play the last set, never the first becoz i dun play hard house. TRANCE WILL NEVER DIE. but they always tell us it does then along comes a few boys from Holland and just blows us away, then they say man TRANCE KICKS ARSE, thats the way ppl are. very sad just becoz they aint into it they start preaching "trance is dead"

TIESTO number 1! trance is dead??? hahahahah whatever!

interesting .. never thought of that, and it makes a lot of sense (even if it does sound very "conspiracy theory") :D

have noticed at altitude in sydney there are very few people at the bar (though the drinks there are horribly expensive.. ($7 for a house bourbon and coke)

Breeze: I fail to understand that notion when the RISE & CHURCH plays cheezey hard trance/house/trance e every weekend and are 2 of the most popular and profitable clubs in Perth. The Rise got voted best weekly club in Perth, Barwood best DJ in Perth, simply coz they make bulk $$$ out of playing cheezey , that people dance to.
A simple change in quality I doubt will result in less people drinking at the bar.
