Lange - Frozen Beach has become my favorite song ever. It's a shame it hasn't been released apart from the Cream chillout cd. :(

Hey torontotrance, everytime someone mentions chillout/ambient or starts a thread, you have to make some smartass comment about it not being real chillout, and you knowing what the 'real' stuff is?

Why don't you 'put you money where your mouth is' and make some suggestions for everybody? (since you are so 1337 :p )

Hey,

This is my first post in these forums, and this is a great thread, with lots of kick ass songs. However, there are way too many tracks for me to download so could anyway perhaps summaries the absolut 'MUST HAVE' tracks. Im making myself a chillout trippin CD(mainly breakbeats), with songs in the from of MIKE KOGLIN - THE SILENCE, and RABBIT IN THE MOON - OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE, so songs similar to that style would be great. I know all the major ones, like hybrid and stuff (I checked out some breakbeat threads here), and there seems to be many songs here I havent heard of, so a little help would be great...

Cheers,

ABV

I second that......

I'm into harder trance/house like Dumonde and Alphazone, but Frozen Beach is great. He also did a breakbeat version of Symmetry C by Brainchild which was good.

Tangerine Dream hasn't been mentioned yet.

So there you go, TANGERINE DREAM :)

Brian Eno needs more love.

I don't think The Orb (Alex Patterson and friends) was namedropped either.

Also... look into a lot of stuff marked and new age and space music and whatnot -- many terms, but it's all lumped together with chill-out now anyway.

I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this list, so feel free to check it out... a lot of this is earlier music, but trees have roots:
