I know I could've sent a private message to Itikia or Swamper to address those isssues, but hopefully by posting it here publically will attract more attention.
1) Holding the line 20 minutes before 12.. Seriously? What the hell was that? if you don't want people to get in for $20, don't create a $20 cover.. It was ridiculous how only 1 person/minute on average wase getting through that line 20 minutes prior to 12. I'm pretty sure line moved hell of a lot faster later on in the night.
2) Coat check. Charging me 5$ ( instead of $2.50) for two pieces of clothing. You want to be a respectable club, stop doing like that. I told the girl who was doing the coat check "This is a ripoff".. To which she bluntly replied "I know". WTH ?
3)Cameras. If you decide to allow cameras into the club(as Itikia and VertexSound have pointed out in another thread) PLEAAASE inform your staff about it.. Cameras were NOT allowed !
I'm sorry if these sound harsh, but seriously, small things like this really piss you off.. I was so excited all week before the party, but when I entered the club I was pissed beyond belief.. Thank God for Talla and all the TAs that were there that made my night ! |

yepps .. i remember you tellin me about this into the night. it's pretty unfortunately. Viva has this 'really expensive for everything' type of mindset. i think it has partly to do with location..
on what the issue with Swamped and Itikia, i PM'ed Itikia for something once but he told me that him nor Swamper own the club and they're just assisting with promotion, so they don't have the ultimate say in what flies and what doesn't. i think maybe next time it would be a better idea to confirm it 100% with the management before announcing it on the boards. events like this have a tendency of jumping the gun when things aren't always finalized, especially with so much rumor and the such ..
ah wells.. atleast we did get a couple of pics in .. :D |

my BIGGEST problem with the night was the god damn coat check at the end. what the hell was that? there wasnt any line there was just a mob of people shoving to get their tickets in.
there WAS a line until each person decided to get 20 of their friends coats and people just got pissed off and just cut in line. next time the bouncers should do something about that. i mean there were people getting knocked over and and the bouncer was just standing there. |

Those few cameras that made it in were due to my persistance. Not 5 mins after they let us in with ours, they were refusing others at the door. This made no sense, since I've been let in with camera numerous times, and have contributed my pics to their website. No consistancy.
Plus, they searched EVERY nook and cranny in our bags, only to have some bouncer 10 feet past the ticket guy tell us no bags were allowed in for 'security reasons'. Ok.... so why did the security staff just waste 10 min's of our lives making sure our bags were safe??? That same guy was also making everyone check their coat. No one was allowed in wearing one. Coat check girl didn't make me pay extra to add my bag to my jacket hanger. I tipped her well, since she let me run back & forth, pull things out & put back into my bag all nite.
Did anyone notice they had the HEAT on in there??? |

yea i noticed that too. the guy in charge of the heaters must have been on drugs too haha
*edit: honestly tho why would you have a heating system in a club? i mean does it serve any purpose? i doubt it ever gets cold... :stongue: |

| hahaha, ilyia's hardcore all the way man lol. yeah, seriously, nathalie, thanks for forcing me to bring my cam in. i was thinking for sure that they'd notice me walking past with huge pockets :p all that bull at bagcheck though. wtf was that? i mean, "no bags - security purposes" bouncer, if it's for security purposes, then shouldn't everyone with a bag get totally turned away? utter bull. instead of saying cams will be let in 100% itikia, why confirm what you cant give? i know it isn't your fault at all, but it made for an annoying first experience at viva. |

| It wasn't Itikia's fault. It's management's indecisiveness & inconsistancy. I made him aware of the problems at the door. |

Actually those are negligable reasons for having problems with the club. I think it was a good idea to post them. |

It would be nice if someone from Viva management was able to read them... otherwise it's all pretty much useless.. |
